WAX has some sad news to send along about the passing of our friend Mark Slater. 

Many of you are familiar with Mark as he was a driving force with WAX and lacrosse in the Westminster Area for many decades.  He wore many hats over the years being a board member, coach, dad, volunteer, leader, innovator, while always focused on teaching kids' lacrosse. 

Mark had a way with captivating the attention of the youngest kids with a silly song and crazy colored shorts while earning the respect from the older boys with his wealth of lacrosse knowledge.  He brought in many of the current board members simply by grabbing them (literally) off the sideline and asking them to help with a drill. 

WAX would not be where it is without his efforts over the years.  As we think back to the hours spent on a field with Mark, we should remember his laugh, crazy songs, genuine smile, generosity, knowledge and limitless supplies of lax gear shoved in the back of his truck.  

He has touched thousands of lives in many positive ways and that should be remembered forever.  Below is the link for his online obituary.
