Covid rules reminder

We wanted to remind everyone of our covid rules and policies. Now that our Majors and Babe Ruth divisions had their first week of games, we want to remind you all of what is at stake if we don't follow just a few rules. We don't want anything to compromise our kids' little league experiences or their safety.

Attached is our set of policies and rules for the season. The state's current guidelines are HERE, and baseball is still a moderate risk sport. We also have to be more diligent with mask-wearing and proper use. Please remind your players that face-coverings must cover their nose and mouth completely. Families should also space themselves out as spectators and keep some distance between themselves and the baseball diamond fences. Only coaches are allowed on the field.

Should you have any concerns or questions, please contact your coaches. You can also reach out to us at any time. We do have games scheduled during the upcoming April vacation, so please also keep you coaches informed of attendance.

Take care, -WYB Board of Directors.

Thank you, 2021 sponsors!
It's not possible to thank these businesses enough, but this is our first THANK YOU. Our league and resources are at an all-time high thanks to local Waltham generosity. We haven't raised fees in years, we're able to provide scholarships to all of those in need, and we've been able to provide masks for each player and coach.
Thank you, Waltham!
Any and all support to our sponsors and business partners is always greatly appreciated.

Registration extended to March 12

Hi WYB Families,

We wanted to reach out and give an update on plans for the coming little league season. A lot has happened the last three days and we are looking at pushing our drafts out to 3/16. Registration will now be cut off on Friday, 3/12 to give us next weekend to finalize plans. The reasons for this are:

  • We've had a significant influx of new players, especially majors and minors.
  • We are revisiting the methods we use to have fair and equal teams and parity across our divisions and league.
  • Expansion teams have us recruiting additional head coaches and we need more time. Expansion is a good thing for our league and baseball, but often requires unpopular solutions.
  • Re-drafts are not popular in our league and we try to avoid them, while at the same time avoiding unfair team-building. This year's major division will likely expand by two teams and we do not want any teams 12-0 or 0-12. This is bad for the league and worse for players' development.
  • Babe Ruth numbers are lower than expected and we are seeing registrations trickle in slowly.

Our decisions and rules won't all be popular, but they will all be made in the best interests of the kids and league. We will continue to keep you updated along the way. Should you have any questions, you can reach out any time and we will get back to you. More to come.

If you still haven't registered, you may register online HERE. Please register asap.

Thanks, -WYB Board of Directors
