SFV Lacrosse's mission is to help teach life lessons to school aged children throughout the San Fernando Valley via lacrosse and to promote and advance amateur youth lacrosse in a safe and sportsmanlike manner where everyone plays.
An update on the status of the Spring season: We expect to have a full season, beginning sometime in March. Los Angeles County has approved youth contact sports like lacrosse, and programs in other sports in some parts of the county are getting under way. However, the City of Los Angeles has not opened up just yet, and we need permits from the city's Parks department.
We will keep you all posted as things change. After we receive the permits, we expect to begin practice within about a week.
Our league, the Southern California Lacrosse Association (SCLA) has brought its rules into alignment with US Lacrosse, the official governing body of the lacrosse. As a result of this change, we have some new age groups and playing formats. You can read about the changes and why they were made, by visiting our "documents" page and viewing the document "SCLA Adopts US Lacrosse Rules."
