NCJLA President's Message

Ladies and Gentlemen -

Sadly, I am reporting to you that on April 6, the NCJLA Board of Directors voted to cancel the remaining portion of the 2020 season.  This was not a decision we took lightly.  As a Board, we reviewed the actions and guidance from the state and counties and determined we could not safely complete the regular season, produce and manage our regional jamborees, nor hold our annual playoffs and end of season tournaments.  Given the cancelation of our End of Season events, the Board also voted to refund 100% of each team’s assessment.

The Board of Directors will meet again on April 15 to determine any additional action for the remainder of the 2020 season and begin to develop plans for the 2021 season.  In the meantime, our Treasurer will be reaching out to each clubs’ President and Treasurer with the exact amount of their assessment refund and how we should send it.

In the coming weeks, the Board and the staff would like to know how your club is weathering this crisis and how the league can support you.  By the end of the month, I would like to hold state of the league meeting to update you with our plans.  Please stay in touch and look for updates from Laura and me.

Thanks and stay healthy and safe.

Steve Walker

NCJLA President
