Green Brook Seniors will have at least 2 teams for the 2021 Spring season. We may start as early as the week of 4/5 (right after Easter) but probably more like Saturday 4/10. We are anticipating playing in the Bridgewater Rec League with Branchburg and Readington. There is estimated to be at least 7 other teams in the league meaning lots of GREAT baseball. Initial indications are a 12 game regular season schedule, plus playoffs (TBD), and a couple of GB vs. GB scrimmages which means aproximately 15 games and ideally 10 practices (up to the coach) meaning a lot of time on the diamond. Early indications are one game during the week and one on Saturday.
We will work with the League to try and NOT schedule far away games during the week where ever possible. We will save those for Saturdays.
Additionally, we are going to possibly try and get outside Saturday 3/15 around 11am for a clinic hosted by Brad Elicker - more info on that soon!
Spring REC Training Sessions This Weekend & First Week of TBall!
Green Brook Baseball Community,
Evaluations are complete as of last weekend! We saw over 130 players in the Majors, Minors, Hybrid and Coach Pitch Divisions. We truly believe this is an important process and sets GB Baseball apart as we try to assess each player in order to make the draft balanced and the teams competitive. If you were unable to attend, please do not worry! We will place players accordingly.
First session of TBALL! We are very excited to see of the players! We will do our best to bring the equipment exchange to the training facility this weekend in case you need gear and we will always have it open once the Shack opens in warmer weather. GB Baseball operates a FREE Equipment Exchange where parents of older players can donate gently used items that their player has outgrown to the next generation of baseball players. Parents (especially TBall and Coach Pitch) are encouraged to look through the items that have been donated before buying new equipment for the season. We often have bats, gloves, helmets, and cleats that are in great shape!
The training sessions for this weekend – please see below for the schedule:
We have to split the sessions due to space constraints so please follow the breakdown based on the first letter of your last name. If you cannot attend your scheduled session it is fine to switch to the other (in the same level) and you do not need to let us know - -just show up to the different session!. Additionally, we realize the schedule is slightly different than we originally anticipated. We are having unexpectedly high levels of players registering which means we will have a great season but we just have to make a few adjustments!
Also, we ask that parents refrain from entering the building if possible (TBall is exempt from this requirement – just socially distance and only 1 parent/guardian!). There will be plenty of Board members and coaches. We will be taking temperatures and will send a required COVID form on the day of the trainings.
The facility is located in Sansone Plaza - 319 Rt. 22 East in Green Brook (House of Thai restaurant, Reefco, etc. The entrance is around back - Door #2.
Please try not to cause a traffic jam when picking up players. It prevents the next team from getting in on time!

For those who are new to Green Brook Baseball Club, here are answers to some Frequently Asked Questions:
Q:What activities does the registration include?
A: First, there are FREE Winter Clinics at an indoor facility in the months of February/March for those that register early. No additional registration is necessary for the clinics. Then, once the teams are chosen, there are some practices before the season starts. Then there are approximately 12 regular season games.
Q: When is the season?
A: We hope to start games around April 9th but that may be delayed due to a severe winter. We will go to approximately June 5th.
Q: When are the games played?
A: There is usually one game on Saturday morning/afternoon and another game on a weeknight at 6 PM. The day during the week may vary due to weather and scheduling.
Q: My player is 5 years old and has no experience with baseball. Where should she/he start?
A: T-Ball (Introduction to Baseball) is the best place to start and get ready for the next level. It is a lot of fun!
Q: My player is older than the TBall age but doesn't have a lot of (or any) baseball experience. Can they start in the Coach Pitch League?
A: Absolutely! The Coach Pitch League is an instructional environment where kids can learn fundamentals while playing the games.
Q: Do you need managers/coaches/Team Parent/volunteers?
A: Yes! We are an all-volunteer league with many parents pitching in to make a great season of baseball for the kids. If you would like to help out, please email the President on the "Board" tab.
Q: Who can I contact if I have a question?
A: Reach out to any Board Member - they are happy to help!
GBBC operates a FREE Equipment Exchange where parents of older players can donate gently used items that their player has outgrown to the next generation of baseball players. Parents (especially TBall and Coach Pitch) are encouraged to come down to the Shack and look through the items that have been donated before buying new equipment for the season. We often have bats, gloves, helmets, and cleats that are in great shape. The exchange is open to browse and donate anytime the shack is open. As you are spring cleaning or on your way to Field Clean Up, please drop off any items you come across that you aren't using anymore to help out the new parents in our League!
