DNLL is happy to announce that we will be bringing Amy Peabody of North Shore Boston Photography to you for Picture Day! . As you all know, Amy has spent countless hours at our parks over the years, donating her time and talent to bring you action shots of the players out of the kindness of her heart! We are so grateful that she has put together photo options for professional portraits of our players! We will be posting a link with scheduling and purchase options shortly! Thank you Amy!!!
We are now open & serving individually wrapped items. While we can not yet serve you our traditional Tapley Triples and Slush, we are happy to have our window open and bring back some normalcy to our park.
We will be reorganizing the Sling App to help guide our scheduling. We will be calling on your assistance. You coach should have sent you an email by now. Working the snack bar is always fun for families and a great way to become involved.
We hope our DNLL families and community are healthy and safe in these trying times. Back in March, when we suspended all league activities in response to the COVID-19 crisis, nobody knew what to expect or the impact this pandemic would have on us, on our families, our community and our way of life. As there are still many unknowns as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, including whether we will be able to have a 2020 DNLL baseball season, we wanted to let you know that we are actively working on it and would like to share with you what we know to date. We thank you all for your patience and appreciate you all holding out hope along side us.
Our current situation is this: DNLL has NOT cancelled the 2020 season. Rather, all league activities remain suspended as we wait for further guidance from state and town officials. On April 30th, Little League International cancelled the 2020 Little League All-Star Regional Tournament in Bristol, CT and the All-Star World Series Tournament in Williamsport, PA. That decision was made mostly due to the extensive travel and large scale crowd gatherings associated with those events. However, Little League International has NOT canceled the 2020 Little League Season NOR any local All-Star Tournaments. Little League International is leaving it up to the individual local leagues guided by state and local government advisories, to decide whether or not to have a 2020 little league season.
Danvers National Little League will remain current on all advisories made by Governor Baker and the Commonweath’s Reopening Advisory Board and all advisories made by the Town of Danvers as they begin planning for re-opening as well as all guidelines issued by the MA Little League District 15 Administration. We await any notifications, would be required to have field permits issued by the Town of Danvers and all of this will be subject to youth sports being permitted by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for this summer. To that extent, DNLL is committed to having a 2020 Little League Season.
There will be many variables and the situation remains fluid. If we are to have a 2020 DNLL Season, it will likely take place during the summer months of July and August. We hope to have more definitive information for you by the end of May. In the meantime, please be assured that, as with everything we do, player and community safety is the number one priority of DNLL. This situation dictates that we approach any resumption of baseball in a controlled and safe manner. As such, DNLL is working on a safety/health plan to mitigate the risks to our league and to the community once we get back to playing.
Please check back for updates, we will be releasing updated information as soon as it becomes available. Again, if you have any questions, please contact us at
. Until we can make our return to Tapley, please stay safe and continue to practice social distancing. This will help continue flattening the curve and bring us closer to an opening day! More info to come soon!
