AGSL Fall 2020 Return to Play Policy

AGSL Family:

Welcome to the Fall 2020 season!   We have waited a long time to say those words and are happy we are getting back on the field.   know that a couple of you have reached out asking if procedures this Fall will be different and that is an understatement.  The County has established conditions (consistent with the CDC, Federal and State guidelines) to allow a return to play and usage of fields.  The County further mandated that AGSL develop a return to play policy that includes all of these requirements and also details the manner in which we will meet them.  We received notice this afternoon that our return to play policy has been accepted and we are approved to move forward with the Fall season under this policy.

I have attached the policy below.  It will govern all practices, scrimmages and games.  We have been informed, in no uncertain terms, that failure to comply with this policy will result in the restriction of individuals, teams, and potentially the entire league from field usage until next Spring.  We are aware this policy asks a lot of players, families, coaches and the League and we are standing by to offer help in any way we can.  In that same breath, we need help from each and every one of you to ensure this policy is adhered to.  You will note that a lot is asked of coaches particularly, who are volunteering their time to get your daughters back on the field.  We humbly ask that each family understand how much their compliance means and take the personal responsibility to comply and help ease the coaches' burdens so they can focus their time and attention where it should be, on the field with your kids.

The first request is that we are looking for a source to buy bulk sanitizing products. If anyone has a resource for that, we would welcome the introduction!

We are certain that there will be many more scenarios and questions that pop up and we will be standing by to work collaboratively with you as those come up. Should you have any questions now, or at any time during the season, before then please reach out to me and we can discuss any ideas or concerns that you may have.  Thank you again for your support of the league and we are so happy that we are able to offer a great physical and social enhancement to your girls as the county continues to work back to normal.

Field Status Information

In cases of inclement weather, Loudoun County's website and app are available to check field status. Visit www.loudoun.gov/fieldstatus for an updated list of status by field. Rainoutline.com is also available for iPhone and Android users. The app includes the ability to mark your favorite fields and receive notifications of closures on your phone. If you have practice at the batting cages and Trailside is closed, the cages are closed as well. The lightning and thunder policy for AGSL is as follows: If lightning is seen or thunder is heard from the ball field, the game will be stopped immediately. All coaches and players must leave the field of play and the surrounding area. Play cannot resume until 30 minutes after the last lightning sighting or sound of thunder. Weather delay time is considered game clock time and counts toward game time limits. If a game is suspended due to inclement weather, the game will proceed at a later date with the same score, game situation, and time as when the game was stopped. If a game is canceled or called before it is an official game, the home team Head Coach shall notify the within 48 hours. Failure to do so may result in forfeiture based on the decision by the Board of Directors. The home team Head Coach is responsible for rescheduling all make up games with the opposing team as soon as possible. All rescheduled games must be coordinated with our scheduler.
