End of Season Letter from President

Scorpion Families,

Our 2020 season officially started back in November of 2019 as we ramped up our evaluation and team selection process of over 500 girls and boys.  Each year we are fortunate to continually bring in over 70 players who join the Scorpion family for the first time.  Under normal circumstances,  many teams would be wrapping up their season over the next couple of weeks with some extending longer to find success in their playoff series.

Although our season was abruptly cut short in early March, we did what we thought was best for the club and greater community.  We were happy to see many kids participate in our Scorpion Spring Challenges from home.  If you would like to find additional resources for the summer, please visit our website here, and/or follow us on Instagram or Facebook.  We are still planning to attend the Danville 4th of July Parade, should this be held.  If local guidance allows us to participate, your player will be invited to join us in the parade as we march down Hartz Ave in our orange and blue game jerseys followed by a little treat afterwards!

Since early March, I have communicated where we stand in the possibility of restarting our season.  Many of you have responded in full support of Scorpions alignment with the school district, local and state officials.  For that we are grateful and hope that we can come together over the summer or early fall.

Scorpion Lacrosse is a 501(3)(c) that runs and thrives as one of the leading club programs on the West Coast. This is built on the efforts of countless volunteer families over our 18 year history. All of you have contributed to the strong legacy of our program as coaches, team parents, event organizers, the equipment team, scorekeepers, board leaders, and yes, even those who wear the sideline manager vests, too!  I’d like to also give a shout-out to our 8th graders, many of whom have been with us for many years. Over 70 of you are graduating out of our program and we hope you share your lacrosse experience and lessons learned into your high school teams.

You will be receiving an email within the next few days regarding refund information.  Thank you to the many families that have already made the decision to donate their refund back to the club and to our local food bank. More information will be provided in the email.

Again I want to thank you for your continued support to Scorpion Lacrosse and look forward to our 20th season together next year.  Our mission is simple, to use the game of lacrosse to develop your child or children and instill positive life lessons.  It is my great hope that the Scorpion Lacrosse Club has delivered this to all the players.

Your in health,

Brian Rivera

President, Scorpion Lacrosse
