CLL has returned to play under the guidelines of the California Dept. of Public Health as outlined in the youth sports guideline document referenced in our own COVID-19 Protocols for 2021. As we finally begin our 2021 Spring season, we want to send a reminder of the basic restrictions we need to observe as an organization and as a baseball community. You may find this guideline document at the following link:
Baseball is classified as an “Outdoor Moderate-Contact Sport” and below are the key points of CLL’s COVID-19 restrictions implementation for a safe return to play:
- Players must wear face covering to the field for instances when they are not participating in the activity (in the dugout, etc), and it is recommended (but not required) to have the mask on while in the field of play.
- Managers and coaches must have face coverings at all times for use when in close contact with players.
- Players to be distanced as much as possible with extremely limited sharing of equipment and use of disinfectant sprays and sanitizers on the field. Additional sanitizer access available around the common grounds for players and observers with regular sanitizing schedules in place for common areas.
- Players are to be especially cautious not to participate in team activity if symptomatic in any way.
- Observers: Must practice social distancing and are to be spread out around fields, with an extremely limited (25-33%) capacity in bleachers. Must also have a face covering available for use in common area around snack bar, bleachers, and bathrooms, or they will be asked to leave the common area.
Please enjoy our great game and be safe. Thank you.
