Scheduling revisions

OYA Fall Baseball PONY Players and Parents:

You may have noticed some revisions to your team's schedule...beyond tonight's rain cancellations.

Earlier today, I learned that some of our Fall Ball Pony players participated in an event (a September 2nd WSBL travel baseball game) in which one of the players later tested positive for COVID-19. It is important to emphasize that the player who tested positive does not play in our OYA Fall Ball program. So, none of the players in our program have tested positive for the virus.

We are taking the necessary precautions to keep our players, coaches and their families safe. In an abundance of caution, any player or coach who participated in that September 2nd event will not be eligible to participate in OYA Fall Ball events for a quarantine period of 14 days (through September 16th).

Each team's schedule has already been revised to address this situation. All teams still have a full slate of 16 regular season games on the schedule.

Please contact me with any questions or comments.

Fall Baseball Key Dates
by posted 08/14/2020

OYA Fall Baseball Pony Players & Parents:

Welcome to Fall Baseball!

To help with your planning, I would like to share some of the key dates for the upcoming season:

  • Tuesday, August 18: Players are assigned to teams
  • Wednesday, August 19: Team rosters are updated online
  • Thursday, August 20: Practices begin
  • Thursday, August 27: Opening Day -- Regular season games begin
  • Tuesday, October 13: Playoffs begin
  • Monday, October 19: Championship game (preliminary date)

To view the team rosters (by end of Wednesday) enter the OYA website (www.oyaboys.org). Click on the “Team” tab >> Choose a Team >> Fall Baseball >> Pony. Then choose a team. The Roster tab is located on the left side of the page.

Each team is scheduled to practice 3 times, play 16 regular season games and participate in the playoffs. Schedules are subject to change due to weather-related cancellations. The online schedule will contain the most current scheduling information. Please do not rely on your team’s coach to contact you regarding the schedule—it’s always available for viewing on the OYA website.

I hope everyone enjoys the Fall Baseball experience. Please don’t hesitate to contact me by email or phone with any questions or comments.
