Today I met with the three other tball coaches to introduce ourselves to one another. One of the coaches is Brad Erlichman, whom is the softball tball commissioner. Brad brought us down to the fields today to talk about what we'd like to see be accomplished with this spring session.
Opening day of the 2021 season is scheduled for Sunday, April 25th and every Sunday throughout the session as follows:
10am - 11am; 1 hour of practice
11am - noon; 1 hour of game play
We recommend packing fluids and snacks for your child. Due to COVID, sharing amongst other team mates is prohibited. The league is hoping to fire up the snack shack as well, if possible.
My goal for this session (which is my 1st coaching in town as my family and I moved to Bridgewater in 2017) is that of positive developmental learning of the sport. Hopefully in doing this, the girls will develop a love for the sport and playing it for many years to come.
Talking with Brad today, he stated that starting the first week of April, he is going to hold optional evening practices on Thursdays at 6pm. He has invited all coaches to take advantage of these optional practices. Please let me know if you would be interested in having your child attend these practices. I believe having the girls attend these practices will help to provide a uniformed approach to learning the fundamentals of the game. Again this would be optional and is up to what works best for you. Either way I would also encourage you to work with your kids at home.
If any parents would like to help out as an assistant coach please let me know. Also, if any of you have any questions or concerns please feel free to reach out. I'll keep you all informed as much as possible.
