We are happy to announce that we have received approval by The St. James to begin conducting light scrimmaging during our practice sessions. This is a positive step forward for our team and players- but because we want to make sure that every player and parent feels comfortable with this new training development, our initial plan will be to create a separate 18U / 16U group, and also a separate 14U / 12U group. These groups will not be scrimmaging but will continue to practice much like they have been doing over the past several weeks. There will be no change to practice days or times, and on days when no scrimmaging is planned, all players will be integrated back into their normal training group/s. For planning purposes, please let Coach Miras know if you would like your child to continue to train in a non-scrimmaging group.
USA Water Polo has officially announced that the 2020 JO Tournament has been cancelled. This is an unfortunate development for club water polo in our country, but it is understandable that an event of that size is not possible to manage at this time. However, USAWP has put its support behind a variety of regional events across the country.
Capital Water Polo has been invited to compete at the Battle of the Bay Tournament in Tampa Bay, FL on Nov 14-15. Tentative age divisions are 12U mixed, 14U mixed, 16U boys, 16U girls, 18U boys and 18U girls. We apologize for the short notice, but we need to get confirmation that your child would like to attend this tournament by Sunday, Sep 27. Once we determine the number and ages of players we can send, Coach Miras will put together the team rosters and get us registered in the tournament. Look for more information on this event shortly. ***all players will need a USAWP Silver membership to compete at this tournament.
