Good Afternoon Freeride Travel Teams,

Wednesday night training tonight may be a bit wet and dark. Bring warm, dry layers and appropriate goggles. We will meet at the super sign at 4:55p. Be prepared for sloppy and variable snow conditions. The off-piste terrain and terrain parks may not be an option tonight, so please be prepared for technical skiing/riding on groomed trails. 

Additionally, starting next week and for the remainder of night training sessions we are considering moving the training time up 30 minutes to a start time of 4:25p. Again, this change would not take place until next week, and only take place if everyone agrees. Over the course of the season this time will add up to be beneficial. Please contact me if this change does not work for you or your family.

Most of you are familiar with the IFSA update sent last week and you are ready to register for events. BBSEF will be supporting and sticking with our original competition plan. IFSA highly recommends that we stay within our own region for this season due to COVID. This is not a bad idea now that all events are classified as regional competitions with the national points structure. Meaning that Bogus and Brundage will score as national events and potentially be very good scoring opportunities for our athletes. Ultimately, this scheme is in place to keep athletes close to home. We also feel that the first two out of region competitions are fairly normal destinations for our athletes and families and we would like to support these competitions if our athletes are lucky enough to get in. Northern Region registration opens this afternoon. 

Additionally, IFSA is discouraging registration for more than three competitions this season. The first three that you compete in will be the only ones you are eligible for points. Essentially, any competition you register for after the third is a waisted spot and takes an opportunity away from someone else to score. 

Similar to the Northern Region’s priority registration, the Intermountain Region is in the process of setting up the same priority registration for Intermountain athletes. If this goes through, it will help safeguard registration spots for our athletes.
