Travel Teams take the field with the HS Varsity Team
by posted 04/15/2021

NFB Travel Families,

I am happy to announce that we have been given the green light to continue our tradition of having the travel teams take the field with the varsity team for the playing of the National Anthem for a home game. This has been a tradition that the travel kids look forward to... getting their name announced with a varsity player, taking the field and standing side by side with the players out on the field for the playing of the National Anthem. It is a great experience for both the young and older payers. It is also a great photo opportunity... please feel free to have a parent representative come out on the field to snap some pics.

This is what the schedule looks like (as you are aware things change... your coach will keep you informed of any changes):

12u team is set for Friday April 23rd 4:15pm home game vs Masuk

11u team is set for Wednesday April 28th 4:15pm home game vs Immaculate

10u team is set for Monday May 3rd 4:15pm home game vs Newtown

9u team is set for Friday May 7th 4:15pm home game vs Brookfield

8u team is set for Friday May 14th 4:15pm home game vs Pomperaug

***All players should arrive 20min before the start of the game and come dressed in their full uniform... including a mask (no equipment needed).

High School Complex

Hi NFB 11u and 12u Travel Teams -

Me again... below is a message that was sent out by our High School Administrators. Please read and make sure we follow these guidelines...

New Fairfield High School complex ground rules:

I think it is very important in our program's success that we all understand the significance of the rules at the high school. Please take the time to review the New Fairfield High School Complex Rules below….

High School Complex Ground Rules:

These are the ground rules that have been established in consultation with the High School Athletic Director and Director of Buildings & Grounds.  If we do not follow these…our use of the facility will be restricted.

1 – High School teams always have priority use of the fields.

  • If, for any reason, you are asked to stop practicing/playing by a high school official…please defer to the high school official until we can correct the matter
  • If you get to the field and a high school game or practice is going on…please do NOT approach the High School coach.
  • If there is a game going on, you can see the scoreboard to determine what inning they are in.  Please warm your team up AWAY from the field until they are done.

2 – No driving around back / Parking:

  • Absolutely no parking in the back when there is a high school softball event going on. If there is no softball... only handicap/elder folks can get dropped off. This is a school safety issue.

3 – Softball field:

  • Please do not congregate around the dugouts when the HS softball team is playing/practicing.  Teams will warm up behind the left field fence.
  • Teams will not use the softball batting cage when softball is using the field

4 – Restrictions on Use of NFB Middle Field & Baseball Batting Cage:

  • NO Game can start if a varsity baseball game is being played.  Teams can practice & warm up and take batting practice in the cage next to 50/70 field (teams cannot take batting practice in the cage next to varsity field during a varsity baseball game).  Teams will be ready to start immediately after the last out.
  • NO game can be played on the middle field if there is a softball game being played

5 – Post Game & Practice Field Maintenance:

  • Spending 15-20 minutes on this keeps our fields in great shape and is a requirement to use the fields at the complex.
  • Teams will rake/drag the field with screen after each game and practice.
  • Bases should be removed from the field and stored.
  • Clean up dugouts.

Please understand that it is very important that we continue to treat the high school baseball/softball fields with the upmost respect!

Together we will continue to keep our baseball program a success!!!

by posted 04/05/2021

Hello everyone,

Here is the week ahead.  Just a reminder, we do NOT have anything tonight.  We have a credit as a team for 2 nights at All Star which we will use on nights that we see rain ahead of time.

Wednesday: Practice 5:30-7:00 50/70 Field

Friday: Practice: 5:30-7:00 50/70 Field

Sunday: Game @New Canaan Doubleheader 9 & 11:00 (Mead Park, 64 Richmond Hill Road, New Canaan, CT)

If you are not able to make any of the upcoming games, please let me know.  With 11 players, our margin is small.  If you have already told me you are missing Sunday's games, no need to tell me again.
