We have our customary 2 games this week, Monday and Thursday. On Monday we are on Field 1. On Thursday we are on Field 3.
The coaches were asked by the league to remind parents of the safety protocols. For the most part I think our group has done pretty well. The specific reminder I have is the designated area for spectators. Spectators should be sitting in the area beyond 3rd base, and remember to distance at least 6 ft. from others. Please see the WAA return to play plan for all safety protocols.
Finally, I have a request for some additional help during our last 4 games. Some of the boys have had a hard time staying focused on the game while we're in the field. First, I totally understand this. The innings can get very long and go for some time without action in this league. The coaches and volunteers are trying to keep all the kids engaged but that has proven to be challenging. Our first priority is safety. We don't want anyone to get hurt when a ball is put into play. So, my ask is for you to join your child in the field with us if you notice they are struggling to focus (if you are able, of course). It is OK if they need to come off the field (in between batters) for a few minutes to reset. Thank you for your support with this.
