Zoom Meeting - Sunday 4:30
by posted 05/29/2020

Hello everyone,

First off, thank you to those who have responded about the potential for a summer season.  If you have not, and you could let me know your thoughts, that would be great.

A couple of things that I have learned along the way.  First off, the summer season will have a lesser cost than regular summer travel.  I do not know the exact cost yet, but it will be less than summer travel last year.  Whatever the schedule is, we will be avoiding Westchester County and lower Fairfield County.  The league is looking into a Connecticut team only league that would keep us in our area.

Coach Ken and I have been in communication about how to keep practices as safe and sanitary as possible.  We are working on practice guidelines and protocols to keep everyone safe and healthy, but also having some baseball fun.  Obviously, all of this is contingent on the town opening the fields.  Until that happens, we stand pat.

I am going to hold the baseball Zoom on Sunday again at 4:30 for all interested parties.  It's been great seeing the boys.  I have a Major League Baseball-themed Kahoot for the boys to compete on, and I am working on a special guest.  Here is the Zoom information:

NF Travel Families...
I hope this email finds you well. This has been a very surreal time having to navigate through this unprecedented pandemic. Although it has been a dismal time for many, it's has also been nice to see our community come together in so many ways. Many thanks go out to our first responders and essential workers for their efforts in keeping us all safe and healthy.
We would like to give you all a quick update on our 2020 travel baseball season.
All of our league affiliates including Cal Ripken/BabeRuth are very hopeful to get our children back on the field in some capacity. NFB is also very hopeful to see our children back on the field, but we understand that some of our families might have reservations in doing so.
We are currently working with the town officials on guidelines, protocols, and a timeline for our "new" 2020 travel season. The hope is to see our travel teams practicing on a rotation in small groups during your practice slot come June, slowly moving to full team practices by the second/third week of June, and finally playing games toward the end of June/early July.
NFB is looking to get a level of interest from our travel families to see if we would be able to field a team this summer. We completely understand if you do not feel comfortable and respect your decision either way. Please get back to your coach with a response as soon as possible so we can get a better understanding of where everyone stands on the situation of the 2020 season.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.

I'm sorry I didn't realize it at first that it was a holiday weekend.  The days kind of string together lately.

Come with a question ready for Matt to answer.  We will also play a baseball Kahoot.
