WYSC will be hosting a Level 1 mens and womens Lacrosse Coaching Development Clinic
Date: March 7, 2020
Time: 9:00am-12:00
Location: Athey Highland Field
- Other aspects of Level 1 Certification are:
- Current USL Membership: Mandatory for clinic
- NCSI Background Check: Optional prior to clinic; Mandatory for Certification
- Online Courses available at learning.uslacrosse.org: Strongly Recommended Prior To Clinic; Mandatory for Certification
- How To Make Proper Contact Online Course (Men’s Game Only)
- Level 1 fundamentals of coaching online course
- PCA Double Goal Coach 1
General Information:
- Clinics are 3 hours in length. They are hands-on, all on-field.
- Please dress comfortable and in layers. Be ready to participate.
- Please bring:
- A stick for the game you coach (we will not have loaner sticks available).
- A water bottle
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Optional: a device for taking notes
- The curriculum covers individual skill progressions. Topics include:
- Ground Balls/Scooping
- Catching, Passing, Shooting
- Dodging
- Individual Defense, Foundations for Team Defense (Double Teams)
- Blocking/Checking (if age-appropriate)
- You will be taught LADM-aligned drills, available in USL Mobile Coach
- You will be taught error detection and correction of specific individual skills

Spring 2020 Lacrosse Information
Spring Recreational Lacrosse registration is now open! Come join the fun in the Spring of 2020! WYSC will be hosting it's first ever recreational lacrosse tournament at the Athey Fields on April 4th. Practices are tentatively set to start the first week of March, depending on the weather. Players U8+ will have practice twice a week. Players Grades K-2 require only a stick. Players Grade 3-5+ require full equipment. Rental Equipment is available. Email Lax@WYSC.org for more information.

Practice location: Bradley Elementary School
All teams will play April 4 in WYSC's 1st Lacrosse tournament
WYSC Lacrosse offers a wide variety of lacrosse-playing opportunities.
The club home fields (Bermuda grass) are located at the Athey Complex in Warrenton.

Players will actively enhance their lacrosse skills with great coaches in year-round indoor and outdoor programs:
- Spring Recreational program.
- Fall Competitive travel program
- Winter Clinics at WYSC's facility.
- Summer Skill Clinics for players of all ages.
*All recreational programs are open to
boys and girls ages 4 to 16*
Equipment needed is listed on our:
*NEW* WYSC will offer equipment rentals for both boys and girls:
- Rental fee is $30 per camp/season
- First come, first serve. We have a limited quantity!
- Rental fee may be used as a credit towards purchase
- Fee will be charged for rental equipment not returned.

- WYSC Fall Recreational Lacrosse: Season will run 8/12-10/26. Games will begin in September, every other weekend and will be run as tournaments.

- Age groups - Boys - 6-11; 12-15 Girls - 3-4; 5-8
- WYSC Winter Lacrosse Clinics: Each session will cost $40 per child. For younger children please contact LAX@WYSC.org to discuss.
