Goals for Greyson

Goals for Greyson

Lacrosse is a family. When someone is hurting in our family, we all hurt and we come together to help.

On October 31st, only weeks after is 13th birthday, Greyson Beauregard of Walpole Youth Lacrosse suffered a traumatic recreational accident.  His injuries were severe, leaving him unable to walk.

The challenges Grey and his family now face as they adapt to a new way of life are extensive.  At the request of so many in our community, this fundraiser was established to help defray the immediate and long-term costs of medical apparatus, home refitting, a mobility vehicle and the adaptive tools Grey will need to support his daily living and empower his independence.

If you know Grey, you know he's feisty, sarcastic, mischievous, a bit stubborn and 100% capable of turning this setback into a comeback.  Let's rally together and help pave the way to his success!

2021 Player Refund Policy

2021 MBYLL Player Refund Policy

(November 13, 2020)

The $30 Player memberships provide immediate insurance coverage to players that last through Dec 31, 2021. While the spring season is the focus of youth lacrosse in Massachusetts, memberships provide year-round insurance coverage for coaches and town programs that is used to host lacrosse activities throughout the year.

The MBYLL Board approved a new refund policy should the season be forced to cancel the Spring season. Taken into account was the expenditures that are incurred prior to the start of the season, keeping the year-round insurance policy for players, coaches and town programs, and being able to continue operations in future years for youth lacrosse in Massachusetts.

If MBYLL is forced to cancel the 2021 season for any reason, such as a Covid-19 health emergency, MBYLL will KEEP the player, coach & town program insurance policy ACTIVE for the 2021 calendar year. This will allow players and programs to conduct lacrosse activities at any time during the year when permissible by state and local authorities.

MBYLL will provide the following to players based on the date the season is cancelled:
* Prior to Jan 1, 2021 - $25 refund (83% refund)
* Prior to Feb 26, 2021 - $20 refund (66% refund)
* Prior to March 14, 2021 - $10 credit for 2022 (players in 8th grade will be sent a $10 refund check)
* After March 14, 2021 – MBYLL will send financial support direct to Town Programs to allow them to give a greater refund on town fees charged to families.

MBYLL Season Update - 4/29/20

April 29, 2020 -- The MBYLL Board of Directors voted last week to cancel the 8 game Classic Schedule and the Select Regular and Post Season Games. While disappointing to have to do so, MBYLL has not cancelled lacrosse for the rest of the year.  The schedule was cancelled so the league could provide financial relief to Town Programs so they could in-turn give back to their families, especially those impacted the most by the coronavirus pandemic.

MBYLL will continue to monitor and follow advice and guidelines from state officials on the ability to return to outdoor youth sports activities. If the opportunity provides for lacrosse activities to resume, MBYLL will support local, regional and league wide events.  The board is also exploring how to save town programs and individual families on 2021 MBYLL season fees.

What MBYLL has done-

  1. Provided all programs with 100% refund of their town fee and select team fees to help them in providing the greatest financial relief back to families in their town.
  2. Kept the 2020 MBYLL Player and Coach insurance policies in place to provide coverage for the remainder of the 2020 calendar year.
  3. Created the “Town Youth Lacrosse Preservation Fund” to support local, regional or league wide lacrosse initiatives this summer, fall and winter.
  4. Voted to extend Coach Certification for an extra year for both those coaches who were certified in 2019 and those who completed certification for this season.  This will save coaches and town programs money for the 2021 season.

What MBYLL is exploring-

  1. Hosting a modified version of the MBYLL Jamboree at Fort Devens (June 13-14 & 20-21) if the state allows. Devens has not cancelled the event as of Apr 29.
  2. An MBYLL funded event for 8th grade players this Summer or Fall.
  3. Exploring possibilities to seek financial relief in some form for insurance costs now and in the future.
  4. Regional pick-up lacrosse days this summer or fall.

We will share more information on future opportunities as soon as possible. Thank you to all who love our sport, who wanted to try the sport, and those who share in our mission to grow the sport of lacrosse in Massachusetts. Stay healthy and safe!
