8U is where all the fun starts (not worrying about her college softball career)! Click here for more 8U information.
10U is where learning and having fun is so important. For the higher skill set player, we offer not only in-house but Wasco Warriors (light travel) to Silver Hawks.
12U is where kids can still be kids, be with their friends and continue to grow and/or start to take it to the "next level" and look at full time travel options. Again, they can stay in-house, they can try out for Wasco Warriors or tryout for Silver Hawks.
14U -18U: In-house players continue to have fun, hone their skills, be with their friends and leave time for other activities and/or try out for full time travel options such as Silver Hawks or Dennison Silver Hawks.
ALL OF WHICH IS RIGHT HERE! One Place - with people you know - coaches you know - at fields that you know! Wasco Silver Hawks!
"Don't speak the problem. Speak the solution."
"One of the biggest problems in youth sports is that kids don't know how to fail. There aren't winners and losers anymore. A vital part of life is learning how to navigate, handle and overcome adversity. Your kids will learn a lot more from failure than from success."
The 3 greatest things to say to your player before competition: Have fun - Play Hard - I love you. The 3 greatest things to say to your player after competition: Did you have fun? I'm proud of you and I love you.

Discover the Wasco Difference
Excellence has no boundaries....some of our players come from over 30 miles away to have the best rec 'sball experience! And WHY?! 31 years of doing one thing....Softball. Our players are constantly growing and developing as ball players. Our coaches are taught the most state-of-the-art approaches as taught by the best collegiate coaches in the business including LSU, 'Bama, UCLA, Michigan, Wisconsin and more. They spend hundreds of hours promoting and respecting the game of youth softball. This is all Wasco does year round is softball. Why settle for anything less than the best for your daughter. We believe that girls should be empowered and strengthened. If you play a sport, you play it like an athlete. Athletes are not defined by gender but by one's commitment and desire to achieve success through setting and achieving personal goals via competition. And with competition comes failure and success and how to handle both situations with dignity and grace is our goal. Here at Wasco, we play by the same rules as any athlete. If you hit a homerun, you earned it. If you hit a triple, you earned it. If you struck out, you earned it. We do not believe in handicapping a player because she is female. We believe in learning, teaching, growing, respecting. While we are a recreational league, we believe in teaching the player to give everything your best effort every time and that we are a part of a TEAM and that means a player should make themselves better, they make their teammates better, and they make the game better. WHILE having fun.
Fees are the same regardless of where you live - no "out of district" fees.
We treat everyone like family.

Facebook And Well-Being
A recent study shows that the more you use Facebook, the worse you feel. With increased use over time, Facebook users have lower life satisfaction, mental health, and physical health, and a higher BMI. These results were particularly strong for mental health; most measures of Facebook use in one year predicted a decrease in mental health in a later year. The study found consistently that both liking others' content and clicking links significantly predicted a subsequent reduction in self-reported physical health, mental health, and life satisfaction.

Did You Know That...?
...by the time you turn 5, you have already developed a sense of self-esteem as strong as an adult's. Because self-image plays a critical role in how children form social identities, this suggests that a child's first 5 years are an extremely important foundation for life.
...incompetent people are often so incompetent, they don't even realize their own incompetence. According to the Dunning-Kruger effect, people who are ignorant or unskilled in any area are too inept to notice, so they end up thinking they're far more competent than they actually are.
...people who find it easy to keep time musically are more likely to have a high IQ. Even if you're not a 'musical person', if you can accurately tap out a beat, you're probably more intelligent than someone who can't.
...'Share tables' help keep kids from going hungry and reduce food waste in schools across the US. When schools set up share tables in their lunchrooms, anyone can leave their unopened food and drinks on the table instead of throwing them away, other kids can stop by and take whatever they'd like, and the leftovers are usually donated to food banks or used in after-school programs.
...anxiety and depression medications are 3 times more likely to make you feel better if you think they're going to work.
...prehistoric women had super strength. Studies of their bones show they had extremely strong arms due to a lifetime of rigorous manual labor. They had greater arm strength than even top-end modern athletes.
These household tips are both creative and effective.
Cool a drink fast. Wet a paper towel and wrap it around the bottle. Place the bottle in the freezer for about 15 minutes.
Remove excess paint easily. Place a large rubber band around the open can of paint. Each time you dip your brush, wipe it against the rubber band. It will eliminate paint drips and keep the rim of the paint can clean.
Soften masking tape. Tape that has sat in a drawer for a long period of time becomes hard and difficult to use. A few minutes in the microwave will make it softer and easier to use.
Free a stuck zipper. Rub a pencil lead over the zipper. The graphite in the lead will lubricate the zipper, making it easier to open and close.
Grocery bag carrier. Hook your grocery bags to a carabiner. It makes them easier to carry, especially if you have to carry your groceries a long distance.
Easy to pour liquids. Instead of removing the foil covering the top of the bottle of vegetable oil, vinegar, or other substance, poke holes in it with a fork. This allows you to pour out small amounts at a time.
Cut a cake with dental floss. To get straight line cuts on baked goods, use unwaxed/unflavored dental floss. The floss will easily cut through without damaging any filling that might be inside.
