Hello Stamford GSC Community,

The German School of Connecticut Early Bird registration deadline is in 5 days!

Reserve your spot before July 31 and receive a $50 discount for the fall semester or $100 discount for the full year registration.

Register Here

or access the GSC Registration System at and choosing the blue "Class Registration" option from the menu.

Registering early helps the German School of Connecticut to plan our teachers, classrooms, and resources for the fall and ensures the continuation of our GSC Community. Thank you in advance for your continued support and trust in our school!

If you were unable to attend the last online "Bier & Brezel" evening, please find attached  the school's COVID policy for returning to in person learning for your information. We will act in accordance with guidance from the CDC, the State of Connecticut, the individual school districts, and our landlords.

In addition, the school's updated 2021-22 calendar is also attached.

Dear GSC Students and Families,

As we plan a return to full in person learning in the fall, we would like to remind everyone that Covid-19 vaccination is the number one prevention strategy available to our community and our schools.  Covid-19 vaccination is presently available to everyone 12 years old and above. Latest guidance of the CDC indicates that students  and staff who are fully vaccinated will not be required to quarantine and will be able to remain in school, even if they come into contact with an individual who has contracted Covid-19. Vaccinations started now will allow students to be considered fully vaccinated at the start of the school year.

Vaccination sites can be found at CT.GOV and clicking on "Find a COVID-19 vaccinator near you". We ask that everyone attending the school who has been vaccinated shares that information with the school at  .

We anticipate that we will soon have more information to share regarding specifics of our mitigating measures in the fall.  The CT Department of Public Health and the CT Department of Education are working on final guidance for schools, which we anticipate to receive at some point in August.  Once we have received it, we will hold another “Bier & Brezel” evening for your information.

News: New principal, in-person classes & earlybird registration

Dear GSC Community

We are pleased to inform you that the board has selected Dr. Michela Bunn to become the next principal and president of the GSC, effective July 1, 2021. Dr. Bunn comes to us with a wealth of teaching experience, pedagogical expertise, and leadership skills. Please join us in welcoming her to our community.

On behalf of the GSC, we want to thank Dr. Stefanie Mischner for her leadership and tireless efforts during the last two years. We wish Dr. Mischner all the best for her future endeavors and new responsibilities.

Dr. Bunn has already started working with the board, the vice-principals and admin-team so she can hit the ground running this August when we restart in-person classes. She will head the efforts to develop a plan and guidelines to ensure a safe environment for teachers, students, parents, and volunteers.

Best regards

Juergen R. Ostertag

Chairperson of the Board
