Ford Sayre Devo

The Development Program is designed for younger skiers (ages 6-9 birth years 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005) with at least 3 years of skiing experience, who can ski all terrain at the Dartmouth Skiway, are ready to ski with poles and can ride the chairlift unassisted. The focus of the program is on improvement through increased skiing time as well as using an introduction to gates and/or brushes to reinforce skills and to have fun. This year will also include a pre-season dry land fun day, 2 optional race days and a day at Burke. Our desire is to create a safe experience from which each child will develop an everlasting love of the sport whether or not they choose to pursue competitive racing. This is not a ski school program, but one for experienced little skiers.  Parent volunteers are required at one home race during the season ($200 security deposit is required).

1) If you skied in any FS program last year, use your login from last year. Your information is saved in the system.

2) This year race work preferences will be done online. You will need your calendar to do this.
When registering multiple children, please only fill out the race preferences once- DO NOT fill out preferences twice- just select "already gave my preferences on a previous child's form."

3) The system will allow you to register multiple kids and pay at the end.

FS Junior Program (J4, J5, J6 and Mountain Race Team)
The Junior Program will have TWO groups working in parallel to provide more options for children to race competitively or to use Ford Sayre's Racing platform to learn important skills and have fun. 
 
The Junior Program is open to all skiers ages 8-13 (2003 -1999). No previous racing experience is required; however, participants must be able to comfortably ski all types of terrain. Skiers train and ski together and grow to be a supportive team. 
 
The Junior Race Team – J4, J5 age classes (birth years 2002-1999)
The Ford Sayre Junior Race Team program is the program for kids who are ready to and want to race.  Traditionally this program has accommodated many levels in a fun and supportive environment where children progress rapidly and enjoy the process of working through a ski racing year from early season dry land and on snow training to the State Championships.  Ford Sayre is known throughout the State for being the most spirited Team and is always respected for the quality of its competitors and their sportsmanship.  This is the perfect program for those who want to progress quickly and who have an interest in competing. Parents are required to work at home races during the season-three races per family, plus 1 additional race for families with more than one child in the program. $800 Security Deposit is required.
 
The J6 age class and Mountain Race Team - (birth years 2003 -1999)
The J6 Team and Mountain Race Teams were conceived to support children who are beyond Devo in skill or age (i.e. having completed two years in Devo) or want to give racing a try. This group includes the USSA J6 age category as well as other J4 and J5 aged children who may want to get into racing, but don't yet have the technical skill base to progress in the J4/5 program or aren't sure they want to be racing full time. The premise is to teach solid skiing skills using a race platform but also to focus on all mountain skiing and building confidence on all terrain.  Three or Four races will be offered and some big mountain days at mountains such as Burke, Stowe and Jay Peak will be scheduled. This program runs in parallel to the Race Team Program and will support children of different skill and interest levels in a structured and fun learning environment. Children who want to and are ready to move up to the FS Junior Race Team are encouraged to do so. Parents are required to work at home races during the season-three races per family, plus 1 additional race for families with more than one child in the program. $800 Security Deposit is required
