11U Baseball: Minors Kid Pitch AAA Spring 2021
The AAA Division is a competitive baseball league for primarily 9-10 year olds, and 11 year olds who need more development.
The AAA Kid Pitch Division is the most competitive Minor League division and is great preparation for playing in Major Division or Intermediate Division in future seasons. Generally, AAA players have at least 2 years of organized baseball experience, although this is not a requirement.
As in all MLL divisions, managers emphasize fundamentals, teamwork, player development and fun. In AAA, players pitch and walks are allowed, although a 5 maximum-run-per-inning rule is in place to keep games moving and to help in developing pitchers. Scores are kept, outs are recorded, and league standings are published on the MLL website. No hitting or pitching statistics are published however.
Players who register for AAA must attend an evaluation in late February/early March. The evaluation specific dates are listed on the website calendar. The purpose of the assessment is to ensure that players are registered for the division that best matches their playing level and to assist in forming balanced teams within each division. Players who desire to be on a Majors team but are deemed at a AAA quality level will be placed on a AAA team.
Teams in the AAA Division play in an end of the season tournament which is scheduled to begin approximately on May 31st and complete on Saturday, June 6. Guaranteed minimum of two games. This is a unique experience for kids at this level of play!
Players in the AAA Division are also eligible for selection to an All-Star Team that will participate in a post-season tournament at the District level and potentially at the State level in July. Tryouts will take place on Sunday, May 9, 2020.
Also, we are considering creation of a team for interested players for entry into 1 or 2 tournaments external to our league during the middle of the season at the 10U or 11U level. If you are interested, simply click on the box in the registration signup.
