CSA Recreation Coach Development Program

  • What: Instructional program geared toward improving the technical skills of the Recreational Coach and Assistant Coach either to advance or just improve.  The program is voluntary and agreed to for an initial two year period then on a yearly basis after minimum requirements are met.
  • Why: The CSA Recreation Program is an all volunteer program and depends greatly on the adults that volunteer to Coach or Assistant Coach. Providing training will enhance the experience for both volunteers and players as well as parents and referees. 
  • Requirements
    • Initial two season registration.
    • Agree to obtain or have obtained the following within the initial two years:
      • NSCAA Level 1 and/or Level 2 suggested prior to first season.
      • USYS "E" License suggested prior to second season.
      • NSCAA Goalkeeper Level 1 (optional)
    • Agree to have Team represented by either Coach or Assistant Coach at each CSA Recreation Coaches Meeting/Training Session.
  • Where: Training sessions and meetings will be scheduled centrally.
  • When:  Training sessions will be offered based on the following:
    • ​NSCAA Level 1 and Level 2 will be offered prior to the spring season.
    • USYS "E" will be offered prior to both fall and spring seasons.
  • What you need to bring:  Coaches are expected to participate actively in training sessions. You will need an appropriate sized ball, shin guards and athletic footwear.  Cleats are not required.  Also bring plenty of water, a positive attitude, and a love for the game.
