Welcome to Cockeysville Girls Soccer, a program in the Cockeysville Office of the Department of Recreation and Parks, Baltimore County, Maryland. Separated from the boys program in 1985, the girls program began with six teams and now generally has over twenty teams each year. The program’s vision is to be a fun and instructional girls soccer program in Baltimore County. The program is committed to providing a fun, safe and positive learning experience, developing accomplished soccer skills and tactics, developing participants’ appreciation of the game and developing teamwork.

The cornerstones to the success of the program are the volunteer coaches and the all-volunteer soccer committee. The program is always looking for volunteer help and encourages parents to get involved and help support the program.

What we have to offer:  (updated for the Fall 2018 Season)

  • Fall In-house leagues for the following age groups: 4-5, 6-7, 8-9 and 10-11.  These leagues take place in Sep & Oct. There is 1 weeknight practice or game and 1 Saturday game each week.  The fields used are Warren Elementary and Warren Park Place.  Registration opens April 1st.
  • Fall CYO Travel teams.  Our travel teams play as "St. Joseph Parish" in the ABSP (aka CYO, Catholice Youth Organization).  The girls need not be Catholic though, they just need to live in the Cockeysville area.  We intend to have 2 teams for each of the following age groups: U10, U12, and U14; and 1 team for U8.  These teams begin practicing in August and wrap up in mid- November.  There are 2 weeknight practices and 1 game on Sunday each week.  The fields used are Warren Elementary, Cockeysville Middle and Meadowwood.  Tryouts for these teams typically take place the first full week of June.  These teams may also play in local tournaments.  Registration opens April 1st.
    • Process - interested girls must sign up for in-house and indicate they have interest in a travel team.  After evaluations the girls that make the teams will be moved to the travel program and additional fees will be due at that time.  Girls that do not make a travel team are able to participate in an in-house league.

The program wishes to thank all the volunteers who have dedicated their time and effort for the betterment of the program and acknowledges the following persons who have served as the girls’ soccer program chairpersons:

John Miller, Carl Truxel, Craig Slotke, Ed Stewart, Rick Thompson, Jeff Zerhusen, Noel Chesser and Markus Rutishauser

Thank you,
