I wish to participate in Newtown Youth Lacrosse (NYL) activities as a parent, fan or coach. I pledge to:
Learn the rules of lacrosse so that I may be a better coach, parent and/or fan.
Remember the field is a classroom and everyone is learning.
Encourage good sportsmanship by demonstrating only positive support for all players, coaches, officials and parents.
Understand that referees are human and make mistakes.
Respect the rights of all participants regardless of their gender, ability, cultural background or religion.
Furthermore, I will not participate in, or encourage inappropriate behavior which can be defined as, but not limited to:
Verbal abuses
Attempts to intimidate
Flagrant and open rudeness
Inability to control actions or language towards a player, official, coach, parent or volunteer.
I have read, understand, support and hereby agree to abide by this NYL Code of Conduct. I understand that failure to abide by this code of conduct may result in immediate disciplinary action by the sole discretion of the Executive Board of Newtown Youth Lacrosse.

All parents and coaches must read and sign this document. NYL will hold signed codes on file through the end of June each year. The signed documents will be available on demand when requested by an NYL Board member.
