Objective:  The Director of Coaching and Player Development will provide a comprehensive program that will enhance the Glastonbury Hartwell Soccer Club through coaching education, player evaluation and development. 
Coaching Education
·         To provide and administer a clinical teaching environment for youth players and parent coaches through coaching licensing programs and other educational and training opportunities (USSF, NSCAA, CJSA).  To be accessible to all coaches for discussion and assistance in training needs and/or match play.
Coaching Evaluation
·         To assess all coaching candidates as well as evaluate coaching performance based on player and team development.
Player Evaluation
·         To assess and direct all youth players to the proper level of play through a standard evaluation procedure.  To evaluate physical, technical and tactical capability at the appropriate age and grade assessment standards.
Player Development
·         To ensure and support a proper training environment that will expose each player to the parameters required to be successful at that specific age level and make progressive advancement through individual and team related training. To design age appropriate curriculum.
Clinical Development
·         To provide a training environment for team and/or individualized player development in a comprehensive predetermined time frame utilizing a practical training environment.
Program Development
·         Develop evaluation criteria to measure effectiveness of existing programs and services and recommend changes in programming to the Board of Directors.  Develop, promote, and implement new programs based on best practices in coaching and player development.
Financial Management
·         Assist in the development of program budgets and provide input regarding the financial strategies of the organization.
·         Work with board members and program directors to set overall financial strategies, including fee structure, large expenditures and capital projects. 
External Communications and Public Relations
·         To be an advocate for education and training and general awareness of the sport of soccer and education issues.  To promote Glastonbury Hartwell Soccer in the community as well as the State of Connecticut.
·         National Coaching License
·         Proven coaching qualifications in the sport of soccer
·         Experience with multiple age levels
·         Clinical teaching capability
·         Understanding of the USSF/CJSA rules and regulations and its educational programs
·         Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
·         Ability to influence coaches and players to enhance player development
Compensation commensurate with experience
