Meagan Morris
2015 Black Team/8th Grade

(R) Assistant Coach Meagan Morris
(L) Head Coach Chazzy Morris

General backgroundCoach Meagan just recently graduated in May 2009 from Pennsylvania College of Technology with a double major in Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management.

While at PCT, she played on the Lady Wildcats basketball team all three seasons, where all three seasons they made it to the Final four.  During her Lady Wildcat career, Meagan registered many accomplishments on the court, including being second in scoring and rebounding for two out of three seasons, shooting 40% behind the 3 point line, and starting all three seasons as a point guard even though she was a natural small forward-wing player.

Coach Meagan played high school varsity for 3 years, but it was in college where she flourished on the floor and truly refined her basketball skills.

Meagan believes that hard work and determination will definitely pay off!

Coaching experience.  Coach Meagan has been assisting with basketball since she was 14, as just a freshman in high school.  Her experience ranges from house league to travel to AAU.

She truly loves giving back and seeing the excitement in the girls’ eyes after they have mastered a move after all the work they have put in it.  Coach Meagan believes basketball isn’t just a sport, but a chance for you to make lasting friendships, learn lessons about life and help to understand what your strengths and weaknesses are beyond the court.

For the 2009-2010 FCYBL season, Coach Meagan was the assistant coach for Arlington travel 8th grade team.  In her spare time, Coach Meagan loves to cook, read and play recreational basketball.

This will be Coach Meagan's second year with the Matrix.  Last year, she was the assistant on the Matrix bronze medal winning 12U Black team and she is looking forward to another year on the sidelines for the Matrix Basketball Organization!!!!!

Coaching Philosophy.  Meagan is seriously excited about the start of the season.

Meagan stresses that basketball is a team sport and this quote is one she refers back to, “one man can be a crucial ingredient on a team, but one man cannot make a team.” Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.

As we embark on this journey, Coach Meagan emphasizes that we remember we are all teammates, starting with the young ladies, continuing to the three coaches and finishing with parents and supporters. WE ARE one team!

Coach Meagan will be working with head coach Chazzy Morris, both of whom are defensive minded coaches that place high priority on teaching fundamentals and on developing sound basketball players.
