Program Description Sr. Majors are made up of 2nd yr Bantams and Midget age players who play a competitive House schedule and may also schedule games against local teams having similar programs. All players signed up for the program will get placed on a team post a 2 week evaluation period. Teams are well balanced with players of several abilities. The program typically has 2 to 4 Sr. Major teams. The goal of the program is to provide all players the opportunity to continue in hockey regardless of skill or pursuit of other interests and to do so in a competitive yet fun and low stress environment.
Teams will typically carry approx 15 players. Coaches historically have been qualified parents of players on the various teams and are there to "oversee" the action.
Sr. Major Hockey Format: We play 5x5 Hockey with change on the fly, tag up off sides and light body contact. All players will be required to attend checking / body contact session during the 1st part of the season. Games will be played both internally and externally as highlighted October to March culminating with a Round Robin Playoff Tournament and ending in a Super Sunday finals game.
