2008 Summer Clinics:
Lax Loons "Mike Gabel" Goalie Clinics Thursday July 3rd...
Mike is in town to teach at the Lax Loons Camp up at St Johns on June 29-July 2 (see camp info below) and plans are to have him stay a day later on Thursday July 3rd to teach goalie clinics in Brooklyn Pk and Minneapolis for those not attending the Camp.
Mike has been the starting goalie for the Chicago Machine of Major Lacrosse League for three years and was the MLL defensive MVP in 2006. (see bio below)
COST: $45 dollars per goalie (limited to 10 goalies per session)

Mike Gabel’s college & pro background – Team Captain University of Vermont '04 and '05. NCAA Div I Save Percentage Record Holder 2003, America East All-Conference Selection 2003, Has been the starting goalie for the Chicago Machine in 06, 07 and 08. Chicago Machine Team Defensive MVP 2006, Mike was also the Assistant Coach at Div I University of Vermont in 2006.

08 Lax Loons "Adam Fassnacht - Dodge To Shot & Face-Off Clinic for Midfielders" July 3rd (Thurs)...
University of Virginia '07 and Major Lacrosse League '08 Washington Bayhawks face-off specialist Adam Fassnacht is in town for the Lax Loons Overnight Camp June 29-July 2 at St John's University. Adam will be running a three hour long Dodging To Shot & Face-Off Clinic for midfielders on Thursday July 3rd in the afternoon from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
A variety of dodging and shooting styles will be taught, plus face-off and wing play styles and a counter for every technique. Emphasis will be placed on the various mechanics and techniques, to help increase your shot speed and accuracy, dodge effectiveness and winning percentage at the face-off X.

COST: The cost is $50 per player includes instruction from our expert staff for 3 hours, a recommended list of videos and website links for shooting and face-off instruction, plus an outline of proper mechanics and suggested drills and weight training for improving shot speed, quickness and agility.

ADAM Fassnacht's college & pro background: In 2008, Adam has won 8 of 14 face-offs in his rookie season for the Bayhawks. At Virginia he had a very productive senior year starting all 16 games, and went 55% on face-offs and led the team in ground balls. In 2006 he had another productive season in his role as the team’s third face off man ... appeared in 13 games and won 54.4 percent of his face offs ... also scored three goals ... scored his first goal against Stony Brook ... won a career-high eight face offs in 12 attempts against VMI ... also led the team with a career-high seven ground balls and scored for the second game in a row ... won six of nine face offs vs. North Carolina and added a goal ... tied his career high with eight wins in 13 attempts against Bellarmine ... won five faceoffs and had four ground balls in the first round of the NCAA tournament vs. Notre Dame ... won six of 12 faceoffs in the semifinals against Syracuse. 2005--Played in eight contests ... four ground balls--two each vs. Drexel and Manhattan. 2004--Made his debut against Drexel ... also played in the final home game against Duke. 08 Lax Loons "Dodge to Shoot Midfielder Clinics" throughout the Twin Cities in July TBA...
Top area college, and club players will be instructors for the Dodge to Shoot Clinics being held at several locations in the Twin Cities this summer. Clinics can also be scheduled at your team's practice site for groups of 4-10 players at a time at a discount. A variety of shooting and dodging styles will be taught for every dodging to shoot situation, plus quick stick, time and room, on the run, jump and one on one in close shots. Empahsis will be placed on the various dodging and shooting form (mechanics) and techique, increasing shot velocity, accuracy, using your body to hide the stick from the goalie, having the proper pocket. We will also use a speed gun to time shots.
COST: The cost is $40 per player includes instruction from our expert staff for 2 hours, a recommended list of videos and website links for shooting instruction, plus an outline of shooting drills and proper mechanics and suggested weight training for improving shot speed, plus for an extra $12 players can take home a dozen (12) lacrosse balls ($22 value) to practice with.

Top area college, and club players will be instructors for the Attack vs. Defense Clinics being held at several locations in the Twin Cities this summer. Clinics can also be scheduled at your team's practice site for groups of 4-10 players at a time at a discount. A variety of shooting, dodging, cradling, feeding and crease play styles will be taught to the attack, while the defense will learn proper stick & body check, body position, footwork, dodging to clear, communication and the different sildes and defensive schemes. Empahsis will be placed on the proper form (mechanics) and techique to make them better at their attack and defensive positions.
COST: The cost is $40 per player includes instruction from our expert staff for 2 hours, a recommended list of videos and website links for attack and defensive instruction, plus an outline of drills and suggested weight training for improving speed and agility.
