Program Rules & Regulations


Wildcat Youth Football (WYF) Program is designed to serve a wide variety of young athletes. Many factors have been considered in creating our rules and procedures. Many are league rules set forth by the Badger Central Football League (BCYFL) and the Alliance Football League; the WYF Board of Directors established the rest. These rules and regulations are designed to ensure safety, fairness, and even competition in all grades.

Each participating player and parent/guardian is required to sign the code of conduct form to participate in the program.


  1. Registration:

Registration is open from April 1st – June 30th via the WYF website or online. Players not registered by the deadline will be charged an additional  $25.00.   Late registrations are subject to Board Approval and will not be accepted after the official mandatory weigh-in date established by the respective leagues, unless the player is new to the district. Absolutely no players will be added after first game has been played. NO EXCEPTIONS.

  • Partial financial assistance is available to qualifying families.

  • $25.00 discount for the second and third child for families with multiple children in the program.

  •  Equipment is provided for each player. Families need to provide mouth guards, chin straps, football shoes, large shirt/practice jersey, and a Positive Attitude!

  • We are a volunteer run organization. Each family will be required to volunteer during home games on a rotating basis. This can include Clock / Chains / Field Set-up (home games) / Concessions /Team Rep


  1. Equipment:

Unlike many programs, WYF provides all equipment except a mouth guard, pants, and cleats. Because of this we have established rules to ensure the equipment is available for years to come.

  • By July, the website will be updated with information regarding equipment pick-up and practice schedules.

  • Equipment is distributed prior to the first practice. Please check the annual calendar for dates.

  • Mouthguards are available for purchase at this time.

  • Player is required to try on all equipment; we will have coaches available to fit the equipment appropriately. Player must wear shorts/undergarment, cup or boxers, whichever will be worn under football pants.

  • A $25 fee will charged for all equipment returned later than assigned dates unless prior arrangements are made.

  • Invoices will be issued for all lost or unreturned equipment for full replacement value.

  • Until equipment is returned and late fees paid the player will not be allowed to play the following year.   Note: Original player is responsible for all fees regardless of who returns the equipment.


  1. Team Draft Policy:

           Every year there is a redraft of all players with equal distribution of Blue Star

           Players. The only players predrafted are the coach’s children.

  1. Season:

  • Practices will not start before the high school program and are determined by coaches.   

  • Practices are held in all types of weather, but will be cancelled by coaches for the  following reasons:

    • Lightening

    • Field conditions are not acceptable for use

  • Expect any communication regarding practices or games to come directly from the team rep, coach, or league.


  1. Playing Time:

each player who:

  • attends all practices,

  • maintains a positive and contributing attitude, and

  • abides by all player code of conduct…shall be guaranteed playing time.

We encourage all players to play both offense and defense, but recognize that it may be in the best interest of the player, based on skill level to limit those positions played.

Good communication between parents and coaches either directly, or through the team representative, will help build understanding. If a parent believes that their child is not receiving adequate playing time, he/she may file a written grievance with the Resolution Committee (see Resolution Procedures).


  1. Youth Night:

Youth Night is an evening in September/October when the youth football players can attend the Varsity game for free if they wear their game jersey or Wildcat Youth Football t-shirt. Parents/guardians are responsible for supervising their children.

Under the supervision of the coach’s coordinator the youth players will line up they walk along the track in front of the bleachers and onto the field to form a human tunnel for the Varsity players to run through after half-time. Once the Varsity team is on the field the players all return to their seats. Please remind players to be on their best behavior.


  1. Refunds:

Participation in the Wildcat Youth Football program requires commitments, from the players, the parents and the coaches. A $50 fee is automatically of the fee is refundable up until the day equipment is handed out. After that date no refunds will be available.

Special refunds will be considered for medical reasons only and is subject to approval by the board of directors. All approved refunds will be issued a check regardless of method of payment.

Refund Procedure:

  •  Submit a written request to the Board of Directors.

  • The Equipment Manager must receive all equipment before a refund check can be issued.

  • The Treasurer will mail a refund check within 10 working days from the date the equipment is returned or approval is received from the Board of Directors whichever is later.


  1. Emergencies:

Due to the nature of football, some injuries will occur. All injuries must be called to the coach’s attention. Most will be minor and can be managed with basic first aid. However, if more intense management is required the rest of the team must:

  • Stop all practices, scrimmages, or drills. DO NOT move the injured player.

  • Call the coach to manage the situation.

  • Non-injured players should sit or kneel at a distance.
