2023 Junior Olympics Dallas, Texas
SLAP plans to field teams in the following divisions: Boys 18U (18U A & 18U B), 16U & 14U. The team flight will depart St. Louis on Wednesday, July 26th at 9::05 am on Southwest Airlines and fly non-stop into Dallas. We will return to St. Louis on Sunday, July 30th, leaving Dallas at 9:00 pm on Southwest Airlines flying non-stop and arriving in St. Louis at 10:40 pm. Athletes are not required to fly on the team flight. Athletes not on the team flight will be responsible for their own transportation to and from the airport in Texas. The cost is $675 and that fee covers the tournament entry fee, the hotel and breakfast at the hotel (4 athletes to a room), rental vans and coaches expenses. A $200 deposit for this trip is due by May 27th and the balance will be due by July 1st. Please do not purchase airline tickets until we have confirmed we have enough athletes attending in a specific age group.

A room block will be available for parents. Athletes will stay in team rooms together, 4 players to a room, with players from their own team. The 2 hotels share the same parking lot. We will be split between the 2 properties. Once we have a final head count we will be able to determine which teams will stay at which property
Cost
$675- This fee includes entry fee, hotel, breakfast, transportation in Texas and coach fees. Athletes will be responsible for their own airfare and other meals. $200 is due by May 27th and the balance will be due by July 1st.

NOTE:This tournament requires USWP GoldLevel Membership / Club affiliation must be with Clayton Water Polo Club
USAWP Insurance:This is required for all athletes.
In order to play with SLAP. every player MUST be a member of USA Water Polo. This is separate from SLAP and SLAP fees. The level of membership depends on whether or not the athlete plans on playing additional tournaments throughout the season.

Gold:"Elite" athlete membership; eligible for ALL USAWP athlete activity, including club practices, sanctioned events, National Championship Events (i.e. Junior Olympics) and all Olympic Development Program (ODP) participation including Zone Teams and ODP National Championships.

Silver:Enhanced" athlete membership; eligible for club practices, local and regional sanctioned leagues and tournaments, and ODP Camps only (excluding Holiday Camp).Not eligible for participation in National Championship events (i.e. Junior Olympics, ODP Zone Team or Holiday Camp). Eligible to upgrade membership within current membership year only.

Bronze :"Basic" athlete membership; eligible for club practices, local/regional league play, and some local sanctioned tournaments. Not eligible for participation in National Championship events (i.e Junior Olympics), ODP trainings (if the player makes the team) and the ODP Championships, and some sanctioned tournaments. Eligible to upgrade membership within current membership year only.
So, what does this mean? If the athlete just wants to play summer and in the summer league go Bronze. If they plan to travel with SLAP to any regional tournaments (Des Moines, Jose Cerda, Great Lakes Classic) and/or participate in an ODP Camp they should go Silver. If the athletes plans to participate in JO's and are actively trying out for a spot on an ODP team; then need register for the Gold level.
