Who Are We: 
Arlington area's oldest and largest girls’ basketball club.

Strong supporters of Arlington Travel Basketball program (10 current Matrix coaches have ATB coaching experience).

All Players Welcome:
Founded in Arlington in 2003, Matrix AAU welcomes players from all surrounding areas; see note below re: the regional nature of AAU programs.**

As such, in addition to its many Arlington players, Matrix AAU is proud to serve our players from Alexandria, Annandale, Centreville, Fairfax, Falls Church, Great Falls, McLean, Springfield, Vienna, and Washington, DC.  

Breadth of Program:
Full slate of girls teams from 3rd to 11th Grade for 2009.
Two teams per age group to serve a variety of skill levels. 

9U/3rd-4th Grade coaches.  Both our 9U (3rd/4th Grade) head coaches are both non-parent coaches with multiple years of
AAU and Travel/FCYBL head coaching experience.

·                     Liz Reed, 9U Black (Div. 1) Team: Head Coach 2008 Matrix 9U District Bronze Medalists; President, Matrix AAU.  Head Coach, Arlington Travel 10U (5th gr.) Division 1 team.

·                     Jim Butler, 9U Green (Div. 2) Team: Ass’t Coach, 2008 Matrix 9U District Bronze Medalists; Founder/Executive Director, Matrix AAU.  Ass’t coach is Clay Buckley, former Duke captain of national championship basketball team, and current McLean Travel coach.

 ** Competitive AAU Programs are Regional:
Unlike Travel soccer or Travel/FCYBL basketball teams, AAU team are not defined in geographic terms; e.g. some of the major Virginia AAU Girls' Basketball clubs are the Matrix, Cardinal, Mustangs, Stars and Vogues, none of which are identified by a single locality.

So Matrix AAU, like all competitive clubs, serves players not just from its home base, but from an expanded community all around its home base.
