Evanston Hockey Spring Registration Fee Refund and Donation Q&A


Q: What is the deadline to make my election?

A: Please complete the survey to make your election by April 6th.

Q: When can I expect my refund?

A: Refunds will be processed by April 13th.

Q: When will I receive my donation receipt?

A: Receipts will be sent via email by April 30th.

Q: What happens after the deadline?

A: If you do not complete the survey and make an election by April 6th, you will receive a full refund for spring registration fees by April 13th.

Q: Are you charging my credit card for the donation?

A: No. If your credit card has already been charged for the spring season, you will receive a refund for the original amount charged minus the amount of your donation.

Q: What do the donations cover?

A: A $275 contribution will help Evanston Hockey pay 100% of coaches’ salaries for the spring season. The figure roughly represents the per player amount for those costs, which the program will cover regardless of the amount we collect in donations. Donations will not be used to pay for ice time, since we are not being charged for ice rentals while Robert Crown is closed. Families also have the option of donating more than $275 per player. If total donations exceed our spring  costs, any additional funds would carry over to cover future expenses, helping Evanston Hockey keep its fees down for the fall season and beyond.

Q: Can I roll over my spring registration fees as a credit for the fall season?

A: No. If you elect not to make a donation, your spring registration fees will be refunded in full by April 13th.

Q: Can I donate more than the spring season registration fee?

A: If you would like to make an additional tax-deductible donation to Evanston Hockey, you can give through the Evanston Hockey website. Click on the “MORE” heading near the top of the home page. You will find a drop-down menu that includes an option to “Make a Donation.”

Q: If the club decides to offer hockey later this spring, how will those activities be structured?

A: That’s to be determined, but potential options include skill sessions, scrimmages and in-house 3v3 competition.

Q: Will we be charged for any future spring activities?

A: Families would need to register and pay as they would for other programs offered throughout the year, such as summer or pre-season camps, tryouts or conditioning clinics.

Q: How private is my refund and donation elections?

A: Only the finance personnel of the boards will see individual elections. This personnel is a small subset of the board members and does not include the hockey director or coaches.
