First and foremost, our policy requires that no child, under any circumstances, is left alone under the exclusive supervision of a coach or volunteer.
Secondly, we require all staff to submit a CORI for every season performing a full background check on all coaches and staff.
And lastly, together with parents, we must ensure that parents and coaches work together to ensure that rule #1 is strictly enforced. This means showing up on time to pick up your child, and that any schedule changes (coach OR parent) are properly communicated among all parties (single-parent homes, grandparents, coaches, etc). If you are the second to last to pick up your child, SYL requests you wait with the coach until the last child is picked up.
We appreciate your continued support of the SYL program, and the level of trust required. If you have any questions or comments on ways to improve the program, please contact an SYL BOD member.
