HD Baha
Assistant Coach
U/9th Grade Black Team

General background.  Coach HD Baha grew up in Falls Church, VA.  He is currently a student at George Mason University majoring in Criminal Justice. 

Coaching experience.  Coach Baha began coaching basketball during his senior year of high school at the Congressional Schools of Virginia.  For the 2008-2009 season, he is the assistant coach for the West Potomac High School varsity team.  For the 2007-2008 season, he was the head Freshman Girls' team coach at Thomas Jefferson High School as well as an assistant coach on the Thomas Jefferson varsity team.  In addition, Coach Baha was the coach for Girls and Boys basketball at Congressional during the 2007-2008 seaon; he also coaches both JV soccer and baseball for the school.  Coach Baha is extremely dedicated to basketball and has been involved in many Stu Vetter basketball camps at Montrose Christian School in Maryland.  He is also mentored by one of the Montrose assistant head coaches, Dan Prete. 

2009 will be Coach Baha’s third year with the Matrix.  During the 2008 season, Coach Baha was the head coach of the Matrix 12U Black team.  For the 2007-2008 winter season, HD was the head coach of the Matrix 13U Fall-Winter team that competed in the Mid-Atlantic Girls National Basketball League (“MANGBL”).  In HD's first year with the Matrx, he served as the assistant coach on the 2007 Matrix 12U Black team and then took over as head coach for the team’s summer league play in which they were runner-up in the championship game. 

Coaching Philosophy.  Coach Baha believes that you become a better basketball player with effort and dedication.  He is a strong believer when it comes to the importance of practice.  HD is a defensive minded coach and works extremely hard to imparting that to his players.  Coach Baha places a very high priority on teaching fundamentals and on developing smart basketball players.
