Evanston Hockey offers boys and girls from ages 3-18 in the Chicago area the chance to play competitive hockey at house, travel and high school levels


Big Kits (Ages 5-7)

Big Kits is geared primarily toward kids who are 5-7 years old. Our Big Kits have one practice and one game/scrimmage per week, held on the weekend at Robert Crown Center in Evanston, 1701 Main Street. The practices and games typically last one hour or less.   • Intended for children 5-7 years old with previous hockey experience (Little Kits or similar)
  • Intermediate hockey skating, passing & shooting skills
  • Edge work to improve forward and backward skating
  • Hockey drills & skill related games (2v2, 3v3 etc)
  • Teach offensive & defensive tactics to build upon hockey instruction
  • Advance hockey playing with more direct hockey instruction
  • Small area games and goaltending involvement when available
  • Bridge gap between beginner hockey instruction and House or Travel hockey
  • Introduction to travel level drills without full pace of competitive hockey skill building
  • Feed into the House or Travel program
