IMPORTANT NOTE FOR ALL AGE GROUPS:

Players are expected to be on the field dressed 15 minutes prior to the start of practice!

Boys & Girls Bantam Travel: K-2nd Grades

This program is for players in grades K-2 and will meet once to twice a week as well as play a limited game schedule if the team has enough players, plus an end of the season Jamboree. The emphasis of this program is to have fun and to teach players the basic skills and rules of the game. Equal playing time will be strived upon by all coaches.

Boys & Girls Lightning Travel:  3rd and 4th Grades

There will be two practices a week, games are usually scheduled on Saturday and Sunday to reach 10 games plus a Lightning Jamboree.  The emphasis is building solid fundamental skills and good habits, introducing the rules of play, developing field awareness, and working as a team. The number of players registered will dictate whether teams are purely grade-based or combined grades. If there is a combined grade teams, it will be determined by skill and/or other sports commitments. Players will be expected to make lacrosse their primary sport in the Spring at this level, but must ensure that coaches are made aware of conflicts upfront, so the coaches can ensure their sufficient numbers for each practice and game. Players will initially play all positions (Attack, Midfield, Defense and Goalie) before being allowed/asked to play a specific position. Practices will typically consist of ninety-minute sessions. Equal playing time will be strived upon by all coaches.

Boys & Girls Junior Travel: 5th and 6th Grades

Junior-level teams will practice two times per week and play two or more games per week.  Games are usually scheduled on Saturday and Sunday, with a mid-week game to reach 10-12 games plus the CONNY Junior tournament. Primary emphasis is on reinforcing strong fundamentals and introducing intermediate–to-high level skills, in-game team strategies, and developing team synergy on the field.  The number of players registered will dictate whether teams are purely grade-based or combined grades. Players will be evaluated for specific positions at this level, and predetermined position lines will occur for all games. Players will be expected to make lacrosse their only sport in the Spring at this level, meaning that missing lacrosse practices or games for other Spring sports or non-valid reasons will be frowned upon as well as will limit playing time. When multiple teams or combined grade teams, Junior players may be moved between teams at the coaching staff’s discretion.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Junior level teams may not offer equal playing time.

Boys & Girls Senior Travel: 7th and 8th Grades

Senior-level teams will practice two times per week and play two or more games per week.  Games are usually scheduled on Saturday and Sunday, with some mid-week games to reach 11-12 games plus the CONNY Senior tournament. The primary emphasis is on reinforcing good habits, introducing higher-level individual skills, more advanced team strategies, and developing team synergy on the field. Players will be evaluated prior to the start of the season. The number of players registered together with the skill level of the players will dictate whether teams are purely grade-based and/or combined grades. If there is a combined grade teams, it will be determined by skill.
