2008 Testimonials

This is what parents of Matrix players are saying about the Matrix Program:

“After playing on Recreation league teams for 2 years, my daughter’s skill level had simply outgrown those of her house team. She was eager to play with girls who were more on her level and could give her competition. The only problem was, we weren’t aware of any leagues in the area. After stumbling upon the Matrix website we decided to sign her up for a few of the try-out camps offered by the Matrix. She was hooked instantly and knew that she wanted to play for their AAU team. Matrix offers many skills clinics and my daughter has attended most.

Making the 9U Black AAU team last Spring was a huge step in my daughter’s basketball experience. Not only did she become more confident in her skills, but the coaches took time to teach her things other coaches didn’t have the time to—they watched her closely and found those little things to work on that make a big difference! The coaches were amazing and we quickly settled into the Matrix “family.”

We’ve only been involved with the Matrix for two short seasons, but after all the fun we had with the team and the great group of parents, girls and coaches, we hope to be lifetime Matrix members… if only the Matrix would start up an adult league!”

"Our daughter has been playing for the Matrix for almost four years. At her first try out, we had no idea what to expect. After making the team, we quickly realized this was going to be a great experience for her. Her Matrix coaches, especially Coaches Nick and Chris, have taught her valuable basketball skills, helped build her confidence and made playing on their teams fun. Burn out has never been an issue!

Overall, Matrix is an extremely well run program.  It has given our daughter opportunities to play year round with their AAU program and their summer league.  The clinics are a nice addition to focus on particular skills.  We are so happy we went to that first tryout!"

“Our daughter has played 3 seasons with the Matrix organization and she loves it.

We have been impressed with the commitment from the coaches, a commitment the girls seem to share. With every season our daughter has played, the coaches remain positive and encouraging.

They have focused on fundamentals and team building. The level of play and competition continues to rise and her basketball skills have improved a great deal.

Our daughter has come away from every game (win or lose…) with a feeling of accomplishment and team spirit. She has been fortunate to make other competitive teams, including her middle school team as a sixth grader, which we feel is as a result of her positive Matrix experience.”

"Matrix and our daughter have been the perfect match!

She was a 3rd  grader and asked us if she could attend the tryouts for the 2007 9U team “just to see what they are and how I have to get ready for them next year when I’m in 4th grade.”  Well, she made the 9U green team with the COACHES Jameson.  They taught her fundamentals and how to use her instincts and develop them into true basketball skills; and her confidence grew tremendously.  They never yelled or screamed--it just isn’t their style.  They took “coaching moments” during games, and she kept learning.

She went on to make the 2008 9U Black team with Liz Reed and Jim Butler in the 4th grade.  With each tournament, we watched our daughter and her teammates become a unit.  Liz and Jim continued what Richard and Dominic Jameson began---fundamentals, discipline, a positive attitude, and good sportsmanship.  “Coaching moments” continued with both Liz and Jim, teaching and encouraging her with each clinic, practice and tournament.

Now, we watch, as our daughter continues to develop into not just a player, but a leader on the court."

"Our daughters have grown both as individuals and players over the last few years thanks to the Matrix program.

The Matrix coaches have been very effective and supportive in terms of helping them develop as players both on and off the court.

We've met some great parents as well and look forward to not only the girl's games, but the fun camaraderie in the stands!"

When we arrived in Arlington from Alaska, our daughter was a good little recreation player, but had no formal coaching in the past.

Trying out for the Matrix was a great challenge for her, and she loved every minute of it.She has played for the Matrix for two seasons now and it has been amazing to watch her transform from a recreation player into a true competitor. The quality of the coaching on the teams and at the clinics has been outstanding. The coaches’ focus on fundamentals, teamwork, discipline and positive attitude has been excellent. The Matrix organization has been an important part of our two years here in Arlington. It is also one of the things that we will miss most as we move on.

Thanks to everyone involved with the Matrix program for taking our daughter to the next level. If you want to see your daughter transform as a basketball player, sign her up for a Matrix program!

My daughter is absolutely loving the team! I couldn't have asked for a better program, and more importantly, two better coaches. Richard Jameson and Dominic Jameson are phenomenal!

My daughter's game has improved tremendously and she is so excited about her newfound basketball skill!  She actually inquired as to when she could play again after this season ended and we're really looking forward to summer league now as well.

"What a fabulous program!  The Matrix organization is a first class operation with a wonderful staff that cares deeply about each and every player.   The core fundamental teaching is unparalleled.  The opportunity for the girls to compete at increasingly higher levels of basketball throughout the year helps develop their skills, confidence and love of the game.

As parents we try to expose our daughters to positive situations where they will learn and develop.  The Matrix program provides this environment.  Thank you to Matrix and to all the wonderful families we have met through our daughter’s participation.  As your program develops so has our daughter."
