Matt McDonald (Head Coach)

Playing Career - Potsdam Central High School, Deerfield Academy, Hamilton College NCAA D-III

Coaching Career - Currently the Head Coach of the New Canaan Country School Varsity team, NCWC, and previously coached the Clinton Comets.

Chris Taliercio (Assistant Coach)

Playing Career - Cardigan Mountain School, St. Paul’s School, Dartmouth College NCAA Division 1 (1997-2001). Played professionally for the Minnesota Wild and Florida Panther minor league affiliates.

Coaching Career - Coached at Elite Hockey Camps for over 10 years, Robby Glantz Power Skating, NCWC.

 

Midget Minor U16

Dave Cochran (Head Coach)

Playing Career - NCWC, NCHS, Yale University NCAA Division 1.  Grew up playing hockey at the New Canaan Winter Club starting at age 6. He went through the travel program ultimately being coached by Coach Tom Mlezko in his bantam years. He spent his subsequent four years playing hockey and lacrosse at New Canaan High School achieving All-America honors in both sports his senior year. He then went on to spend four years under famed coach Tim Taylor at Yale University (Division 1) along with playing two years of varsity lacrosse. 

Coaching Career - David coached a couple of New Canaan Winter Club Bantam A teams to CHC championship games. He also spent 10 years coaching the 8th grade A lacrosse teams in the town's youth association where some great hockey players, such as Christian Jensen and Max Pacioretty, touched the field on his team. Overall David has coached the 13-16 year old age group in hockey and lacrosse in New Canaan for more than two decades. 

Jamie Hanford (Assistant Coach)

Playing Career - Darien High School (All-FCIAC), was a 3x All-American at Loyola College and was a 13 year indoor / outdoor All-Pro Professional Lacrosse player.  During his pro career he helped the Philadelphia Wings and the Colorado Mammoth, win NLL Championships.   While a member of the Baltimore Bayhawks, he helped the team win the MLL Championship in 2002.  In 2002, Jamie was assistant captain of Team USA and helped the team win the Heritage Cup.  Jamie is one of Darien High School’s greatest lacrosse players of all-time.    He was a 3x All FCIAC player, 2x All-Sate, All-American, and CT Player of the year in 1994.  He helped Darien win its first two FCIAC championships in 1992 & 1994.   In his senior year, he was the North South All-Star Game MVP.  In 2012, he was selected to be inducted into the Connecticut Lacrosse Hall of Fame (only the second lacrosse player ever to be honored by the CT Chapter).  In all, Jamie excelled playing three sports in High School.  As a multiple sport athlete, he would earn All-FCIAC honors in three sports - Football, Ice Hockey, and Lacrosse.

Coaching Career - Jamie has been coaching at the NCWC for 5 years. Jamie has been coaching in lacrosse camps for nearly two decades and runs Eclipse Lacrosse. Jamie is entering his fourth season as Head Coach at Greens Farms Academy (GFA) in Fairfield, CT.

Playing Career - Exeter High School, Deerfield Academy, Union College (Captain) NCAA Division 1 (1997-2001).  Played professionally for the St. Louis Blues and Ottawa Senators minor league affiliates.  

Coaching Career - 20 year coaching career including the New Canaan Winter Club (7 years) and Mid-Fairfield, Skills Instructor at Elite Hockey Camp, BU Hockey Camp, and Phillips Exeter Academy Hockey Camp.  Clark is the Hockey Director at the New Canaan Winter Club and Darien Ice House, Head Coach at New Canaan High School, and Founder and Head Skills Coach of the Hockey Skills Academy.

Jamie Hanford (Head Coach)

Brandon Angotti (Assistant Coach)

Playing Career - Staples High School Varsity, CT Wolves Junior B (MJHL), New York Bobcats Junior A (AJHL), Springfield Falcons Junior A (EJHL), Geneseo State University (SUNYAC) NCAA Div-III (2009-2013)

Coaching Career - Skills Instructor at Pro Ambitions Hockey Camps throughout New England.  This is Brandon's 4th season at the New Canaan Winter Club.

Rob Blosio (Assistant Coach)

Playing Career - A New Canaan native, Rob played Varsity Ice Hockey, Varsity Lacrosse and Golf for New Canaan High School. He went on to play Lacrosse and Club Ice Hockey at The University of Richmond.

Coaching Career - Coached the NCHS boy's fall Ice Hockey team and has been a coach at the Winter Club for the last three years. He also coaches New Canaan Youth Lacrosse.

Mike Mammone (Head Coach)

Playing Career - Mike played at Westhill High School as a four year starting goaltender, named first team All-FCIAC his Junior and Senior years.

Coaching Career - NCWC Head Goaltending Coach, Lead ProCrease Instructor, Goaltending Coach for Trinity College and Post University.  Mike has also coached with the Bronxville Blackhawks and the Greenwich Blues.

Kyle Mills (Assistant Coach)

Playing Career - Fairfield Prep (State Championship), Canterbury School (Asst. Captain), Penn State Club (Asst. Captain, ACHA-1)

Coaching Career - Kyle has coached at the NCWC for 5 years.

Playing Career - Grew up in Stamford, CT.  Played 4 years of Varsity Hockey for Trinity Catholic High School.

Coaching Career - Matt's coaching career has spanned 10 years between the New Canaan Winter Club, CT Flames, and the Stamford Sharks.

Playing Career - Capital District Selects (EJHL), New Jersey Hitmen (EJHL), Fitchburg State College, Western New England College, Worcester State College NCAA D-III.

Coaching Career - This is Ron's second stint at the NCWC.  Previously the Head Varsity Hockey Coach at St. Luke's School.

​Trevor Bradley (Head Coach)

P​laying Career - Avon Old Farms, Connecticut College NCAA D-III.  Trevor played prep school hockey at Avon Old Farms where he was a member of two New England championship winning teams. He then went on to play at Connecticut College where he was a three-year captain and member of the All-NESCAC team.

Coaching Career - Trevor joined the NCWC as a coach at the beginning of the 2016-2017 season.

Jordan Brickner (Head Coach)

Playing Career - Attended The Hotchkiss School in Lakeville, CT. Spent two years playing Division 1 NCAA Women’s Hockey for the Colgate University Raiders and continued her hockey career at The University of Wisconsin-Madison for her Junior and Senior Seasons. Played semi-professional hockey in Europe for two seasons for the Salzburg Eagles and Hockey Club Lugano. Played professionally for the CT Whale in the NWHL where she was an All-Star Selection in 2016.

Coaching Career - Previously the Hockey Director and coach for the Greenwich Panthers.  Jordan is a well known skill development coach.

Sean Hurley (Assistant Coach)

Playing Career - Northfield Mt. Hermon, Chicago Steel USHL, Brown University Captain, NCAA Division 1 (2004-2008), AHL (San Jose Sharks Affiliate), ECHL, CHL.

Coaching Career - Sean has spent 10 years coaching beginners to elite players through skills sessions and with the New Canaan Winter Club, Ice Cats, and the Hockey Skills Academy. 

 

Mite B U8

Nick Petrecki (Head Coach)

​Playing Career - Selected 28th overall by the San Jose Sharks in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft. He played NCAA Hockey with the Boston College Eagles, who won the NCAA Men's Ice Hockey Championship title in his first season with the team (2007–2008).  On March 30, 2009 Petrecki signed an NHL contract with the San Jose Sharks.  (NHL, AHL, ECHL)

Coaching Career - Nick has been a well known skills coach throughout the off-season during his playing career.  New Canaan High School Associate Coach.  This will be his 2nd year at the Winter Club.

Chris Gragnano (Assistant Coach)

Playing Career - Chris Gragnano grew up playing hockey in Hazlet, New Jersey. He played high school at Christian Brothers Academy, where in his senior year he was named team captain. That year he was also named to the All-County and All-State teams.  Upon graduation he went to Providence College. After some time with the Friars he went on to Vermont where he joined the Green Mountain Glades of the EJHL. 

Coaching Career - Since 2007 he has coached many nationally ranked youth teams, has won Regional championships, brought teams to nationals  and was named coach in the 2011 AYHL All Star Game. In 2012 Gragnano became an assistant coach for the CT Oilers (EJHL and EHL) and served as the organizations' Director of Hockey Operations. He has a great working knowledge of the Junior Hockey landscape and has countless connections. Beginning in 2015, Chris was hired as an assistant coach at the Gunnery and in his time there they have won an Elite 8 New England Championship ('16), the Watkins Tournament ('16) and the Avon Christmas Classic ('17). Chris has been a skills instructor in the area over the last 10 years and is the owner of Total Hockey Development. Throughout the year Chris trains many high level players from prep schools, junior programs and colleges as well as professionals that play in Europe, ECHL, AHL and the NHL.
