COMPETITION AGE DIVISIONS ARE DEFINED BELOW

AGE GROUP CROSS REFERENCE FOR BIRTH YEARS, GROUPS, AND GRADES

MDWL (age divisions for the winter season 2019-2020):

- Age divisions are two-years or 24-months spreads

- "Intermediate" - must be 14 years old or younger on or before December 31, 2019

- "Junior" - must be 12 years old or younger on or before December 31, 2019

- "Midget" - must be 10 years old or younger on or before December 31, 2019

- "Bantam" - must be 8 years old or younger on or before December 31, 2019

COMPETITIONS:

- Every Sunday in January and February

- Season end final championship tournament on the weekend of March 7 at Shenendoah University

- Wrestlers must complete at least four MDWL events to qualify for the season end finals in March

- locations are typically in Loudoun county, Winchester, Front Royal, or Charlestown, with an occasional trip to somewhere else off of route 81

- anticipated competition locations shown on map ~ Click Here

- arrival to competition events is prior to 8:45 AM to check in

- wrestling starts 10:00 AM

- kids are typically in the gym until 2:30-3:00 PM depending on the number of matches 

- we typically strive to get 2-3 matches per event

- parents may leave when their matches are finished so not to be there all day
