Mission Statement:  The goal of the Blue & Gray Cavalry is to provide a more competitive level of baseball & softball for GMBL players between the ages of 7 and 15. The emphasis shall be on fundamentals, individual improvement, and teamwork with unselfish attitude, all while having fun learning the game of baseball.

Information:  The Blue & Gray Cavalry teams should enhance the GMBL teams, and not be considered a substitute to playing on the league teams. Schedules are such that kids should be able to play on league teams while still participating on Blue & Gray teams.

Each age division normally fields a Blue & Gray Cavalry team, with Tournament Team tryouts typically held in early June to determine the summer’s Tournament Teams. The summer teams compete in the Cal Ripken/Babe Ruth sanctioned tournaments where some ages culminate with a World Series.

During the fall when most GMBL League Teams are considered primarily developmental, the Blue & Gray Cavalry teams are both developmental and competitive for the more highly skilled players.  They will play in Travel Leagues and Tournaments on weekends, within DC, MD, and Virginia.  Tryouts for the fall teams are normally held in August, after the summer Tournament Team season has been completed.
