Registering for Lebanon CT Little League

Because Lebanon CT Little League is a skills based league for the regular season, there will be NO Move Up requests.  Our best effort will be made to place an athlete in a Division that is appropriate for them.  When registering, please register for the appropriate level for your child.  There are some overlaps with ages.  For example, an 8 y.o. will be able to register for both AA and AAA Ball.  After Player Evaluations, he will be placed in the Division appropriate for his skill set.  If you registered him for AAA, but plays AA, LCLL will have to issue a refund.  Just because you register for AAA, it does not mean he plays AAA.  Please understand that we are trying to place the athletes that best suits their needs.

There will be a Player Evaluation on Saturday, March 10th for A Ball through Majors.  There will be NO evaluation for Tee ball.  Age level evaluations times are as follows:

Baseball and Softball evaluations will be this coming Saturday March 10th at the Lebanon middle school. The schedule for the Evals is as follows:

BASEBALL:

Majors: 11-12 year olds- 8-9:15am

AAA: 9-10 year olds- 9:15-10:30am

A: 6-7 year olds- 11:45am- 1pm

SOFTBALL:

Minors: 9-10 year olds 2:30-3:30pm

Instructional- 6-8 year olds 3:30-4:30pm

The changes we made last season are still developing and there will still be a few bumps along the way.  We are going to do our best to limit these bumps.  Please keep in mind that these changes were made by the Board.  We felt that this is in the best interest of the player development and competitive fairness. It will probably take a few seasons to get this worked out.  So please keep an open mind and be patient.

If you have any questions please feel free to come to a board meeting.  They are usually the second Monday of the month at 7:00 pm in the Community Center.  Check the website for meeting times and dates.

Baseball

Tee Ball – 4 to 6 years old boys and girls.  Teams are mixed randomly.  The focus of this level is to get the kids to enjoy the game, learn some of the very basics and get them outside and enjoying sports.  Teams will play other towns occasionally if available and each other.

A Ball 6 to 8 years old.  Teams are mixed randomly.  For the 6 y.o. we request that they have done at least one year of Tee Ball and they can follow directions well.  This will be mainly coach pitch and maybe still some Tee Ball.  They will be introduced to all the positions on the field at this level.  Teams will play other towns occasionally if available and each other.

AA Ball – 7 to 9 years old.  Teams are based on our evaluation.  This is the beginning of our skill based teams.  Athletes need to be able to demonstrate basic baseball skills needed to play at this level.  Kid pitching will be introduced at this level (mainly 8 y.o.).  It will be a mix of kid pitch and coach pitch.  The fielding positions will continue to be developed.  The rules and strategies are introduced at this level.  Teams will play other towns and each other.

AAA Ball – 8 to 11 years old.  Teams are based on our evaluation.  Players must demonstrate the skills needed to play at this level.  This is kid pitching.  All the fielding positions will continue to be developed.  Rules and strategies are developed to a higher level.  Stealing is introduced in AAA.  Teams will play other towns and each other.

Majors – 9 to 12 years old.   Teams are based on our evaluation.  All 12 y.o. players will play in the Majors.  The rest of the teams will be filled with those players ages 9 to 11 y.o. that demonstrate the skill and maturity needed to compete at this level.  Rules and strategies are advanced in the Majors.  The players will start to learn more about specific positions that are best suited for them.  Teams will play other towns and each other.

Junior League – 13 to 14 years old.  Teams are based on our evaluation.  All 13 and 14 years old players will play in the Junior League.  Rules and strategies are advanced in the Junior League.  The players will start to learn more about specific positions that are best suited for them.  Teams will play other towns and each other.

Senior League – 15 to 16 years old.  Teams are based on our evaluation.  All 15 and 16 years old players will play in the Senior League.  Rules and strategies are advanced in the Senior League.  The players will start to learn more about specific positions that are best suited for them.  Teams will play other towns and each other.

Please note: There is a cost difference between AA ball ($60) and AAA ball ($125). If your player is 8 or 9 years old and will be trying out for the higher level, please register you child for AAA ball. If the player does not make the team, you will be refunded the difference between the cost of registration between the 2 levels. If you pay the lower registration amount and your player "makes" the higher level, you will be required to pay the difference before your child will be able to play.
