CAL RIPKEN Certification (One Time For Life)

2 CERTIFICATIONS are required for EVERY Manager/Assistant Coach:

1) CAL RIPKEN (1 time for Life Certification via Human Kinetics):

Babe Ruth HQs requires each coach to certify once in Cal Ripken Baseball or Softball Certification. This certifcation is good for life. Please use this link to get your Certification to be eligible to coach in GMBL. If you coach in both Baseball and Softball, only one certification is required as a Coach (you do not need to complete both Baseball and Softball). Please save a copy of your certificate to present to Commissioner of the Division you will be coaching in.

2) BACKGROUND CHECK and SAFETY CERTIFICATION: (Required to be completed every 2 Years per Babe Ruth HQs Rules)

NOTE - Babe Ruth uses SPORTS ENGINE PROCESS for Coach Background Checks. Please either login to your SPORTS ENGINE Account to confirm Eligiblity status or use the link below to setup an account to pursue new Background Check/ Adult Prevention Safety (APS). You need to use COACH or Volunteer Option.

Background Check via Babe Ruth's Sports Engine background process and required APS Safety training

If your name is not ACTIVE / Eligible via Sports Engine, you need to redo it. It's one fee to complete both Background Screening and APS that are good for 2 Years.

2022 Background Check_APS Results/SO Coaches *- 11/30/2022 - Complete list of current background checks submitted and received for coaches and league officials. This is mandatory requirement to be completed. Babe Ruth HQs requires verification EVERY 2 YEARS along with Abuse Prevention Training. If you are not on this list, you will need to complete both Background/APS components.
