Thanks to all of you who helped prepare our kids for the AYSA state tournament this past weekend.
The U11 Elite Boys had a great tournament playing a number of A bracket teams. I think this team is ready to win this tournament next year. Congratulations to the boys for a second place finish in the Spring U11 boys B bracket. Coach Michael did a wonderful job with them.
The U12 Elite Boys came close, tying for a second spot at the tournament. This is the second year this team comes second at the state championship. Hopefully the third time around will be their year. Congratulations to the U12 Elite Boys and Coach Fuller and Odongo for earning the second spot in the spring AYSA league U12 boys A bracket.
The U12 Elite Girls became the first Tuscaloosa United girls team to win a state championship. They did in great fashion playing without any subs. This team was coached by Coach Tatum, Fuller and Odongo.
The U14 Boys Elite team is currently at the top of the AYSA Spring D2 U14 boys league. Great work Coach Vincent.
I would also like to thank several others. Thanks to Coach Tatum, the Speed and Agility sessions have been very helpful. Coach Fuller deserves thanks for all the background help, especially getting everybody hotel rooms, coaching, etc. (the list goes on and on). I would also like to thank Coach Vincent for the goalkeeper sessions, Frank for his administrative help, and Hugh Lee for putting all this stuff together and his stewardship of the Elite travel program.
As you can see our club is putting out a great product. Teams at different levels are experiencing great success, including our U10 Girls Rec. plus team winning the Hoover Havoc tournament. Our goal is to have a thriving local recreation league in TUSL as well as producing travel teams that compete at the highest levels in Alabama soccer. The future looks very bright for our young club.
