Congratulations Coach Marty Roos!

Congratulations to SCYH's own Mr Roos for being inducted into the Fairfield County Sports Hall of Fame.

Marty Roos posed for a photograph during the Sports Night awards dinner at the Hyatt Regency in Greenwich, Conn., on Monday, Oct. 20, 2014. Roos was being inducted into the Fairfield County Sports Hall of Fame for his 40-year hockey coaching career. He set the record for most career coaching victories at 536.

Coach Roos thanked all of the players and coaches who were on his teams over the years that helped him reach the impressive milestone of the "Winningest High School Coach in Ct history". Mr Roos coached 19 years at Fairfield Prep then coached 20 more years at Notre Dame Fairfield. He won 6 State Championship titles along the way.

Mr. Roos is still very active with the Milford Ice Pavillion and Southern Ct Youth Hockey program. He does so much behind the scenes for the kids that people just dont realize. Without the support of Mr Roos, many of the programs at the rink would not have survived. You can still find him bright and early on Sunday mornings making Pizza and cookies for the snack bar and driving the Zamboni. If your lucky, there still might be some of his famous chili left. When the Chili is being served at the snack bar, it is officially hockey season. Thanks again for all you have done for youth hockey and hockey in CT!

SHU vs UCONN Mens Hockey to Benefit the Pagni Family

Sacred Heart University Mens Hockey takes on UCONN

In Memory of Jason Pagni and to Benefit the Pagni Family

Friday, November 14th at 7:05PM

The Taft School, Watertown, Connecticut

On Friday November 14, 2014, the Sacred Heart University Men's Hockey team will play the University of Connecticut in a benefit for the family of Jason Pagni. The game will be played at The Taft School in Watertown, Connecticut. Face-off is scheduled for 7:05PM. All proceeds from the game will be donated to the family of Jason Pagni.

Jason was well known in Connecticut hockey circles.  After graduating from The Avon Old Farms School in 1989, he devoted his life to hockey in Connecticut.  Jason was dedicated to advocating, developing and touching the lives of numerous parents and players at all levels of the sport from youth hockey, high school, prep school, college and the National Hockey League.  Jason's passion was hockey, and his favorite expression was, "Everybody Rides."

Jason Pagni passed away suddenly on January 31, 2014 at the age of 43, leaving a loving wife and two young children. This game is intended to acknowledge Jason's legacy, and to gather the hockey community in support of his family. Additionally, it is expected that there will be a separate auction at the game, featuring numerous items from current professional hockey players who were touched by Jason with all proceeds going to the Pagni Family.

Tickets are general admission and are available for $10.00 per person. The arena capacity is limited to 950 people and a large crowd is expected. Therefore it is recommended that tickets be purchased in advance. To purchase tickets, please contact:
