Sportsmanship

Here are a few things to keep in mind regarding our sportsmanship expectations:

  • Please sit on the opposite side of the field from the player’s box on the same end of the field as your team. All of our Thunder parents and fans should be sitting together.
  • NO COACHING FROM THE SIDELINES. This is the coach’s job and the players / coaches should never hear “shoot” or “pass” from the parents. Don’t confuse your players by telling them what to do during the game; you may not know what the coaches have communicated with them.
  • DO NOT TALK TO THE REFS.  Again, this is the coach’s job and they will address and communicate with the refs as they deem appropriate.
  • Cheer for all good plays – if the other goalie makes a fantastic save on your son’s shot, although it’s not the outcome you wanted, it’s ok to clap.
  • After the game, tell your son how much fun it was to watch him play!
