Looking for Boy and Girl referees !!!

Looking for Boy referees. This is a great opportunity to add something to your resume, get paid, give back to lacrosse.
Girl referees needed as well. Talk to Coach Carl if interested.
clc.

Hope everyone is getting ready for another great 2020 NVYLL spring season.

One important component of NVYLL is the fine adults and high school scholar-athletes who officiate our NVYLL games.  The Washington Area Lacrosse Officials Association (WALOA) is a non-profit organization of over 350 officials who serve the men’s and boys’ lacrosse communities here in the metropolitan DC area.

I’d like to draw attention to WALOA’s upcoming Certification and Training program for the coming spring 2020 season.  This would be an excellent opportunity for both adults and high school students to experience another part of the game and to join the 3rd team on the field.

Students age 16 and above with their driver’s license by March 15, 2020 are eligible to become certified to officiate weekend youth games in the area for the coming spring 2020 season.  This is a great opportunity to not only learn another aspect of the game, but the experience can also bolster a college application/resume while also making some serious money.

Adults can also get involved!  Dad may want to get certified and work youth games with his high-school aged official as a father/son crew for a few years.  Then, after junior graduates and heads off to college, dad may want to continue to officiate either youth games or move up to work high school games to ‘stay-in-the-game’.

Those interested should go to the WALOA website (www.waloa.org) and fill out an Interest Form which can be found on their website’s landing page.  Completion of the Interest Form will capture your contact information for future training and certification class information once it is finalized.

Mark your calendars for a New Official Orientation Session to be held at The Episcopal School, North Quaker Lane in Alexandria, VA at 9:30 am on Saturday, December 14.  At the Orientation Session folks will get info on the expectations of becoming an official, training and certification classes, uniform requirements, etc.

Individuals with questions can contact Tom Bradley, WALOA NVYLL Youth Assignor, at .

I highly encourage individuals to give this serious consideration to support boys’ lacrosse here in our area.  Thanks for your time!

Yours in lacrosse,

Tom Bradley

WALOA NVYLL Youth Assignor

HHS Parking Instructions

Due to on-going construction at Herndon High School, the only safe access to the turf fields is a newly constructed path - it is highlighted in yellow arrows.  The path begins in the southwest corner of the high school property in a gravel parking area. The gravel parking area is marked as "Drop-off Only. No Parking."  Players may be dropped off here, but please park in the areas marked "Parking" on the map - existing parking lots on the high school property that are not impacted by the construction.

Do NOT park in either of the neighboring churches - You will be towed.

Do NOT park on either Dranesville Road or Bennett Street - You will be ticketed.

We apologize for the inconvenience and truly appreciate your cooperation!
