Coaches: CEP #7

Coaches,

Please see the chart below to review your individual requirements that must be completed.  If you do not see your name, then you are good to go for the 2019-20 season.

Last Name First Name Level to be completed by 12/31/19
BLOSIO ROBERT Level 3 online certification or Level 4
BOSSIN TIMOTHY Level 3
COCHRAN DAVID Level 3 online certification or Level 4 *before 10/31
COLANERI JOSEPH Level 3
REGAN LINDSAY Level 3
BARTONE SCOTT Level 1
BEVAN ANDREW Level 1
HOLLAND JOHN Level 1
OSHEA DANIEL Level 1
ROOMET ALEKSANDER Level 1

Before the system allows your name to be added to your respective 2019-20 roster/(s), you must have the following three (3) items completed:

• Every two years, CHC completes background checks on all coaches, who are actively involved in youth hockey in the State of Connecticut. If your name is on the list below, you will need to complete a background check for the Winter Club.

*When they ask for your confirmation number on the first page of the screening process, they are asking for your USA Hockey number for the 2019-20 season that you recently acquired.  If you do not enter it correctly, you will not get credit for submitting this report.  Also, please make sure that you use the same name that you used to get your new USA Hockey number while completing the screening information*

Please go to the following link to complete this process, which takes less than 10 minutes to complete: https://opportunities.averity.com/ConnecticutHC
*If this link does not work, please go to www.chchockey.org.  Then, go to Coach/Volunteer screening tab on the left-hand side of the homepage.  Then, click on: https://opportunities.averity.com/ConnecticutHC.

• If you need to complete Safe Sport, the original course no longer exists and you will be required to open a new account as this is a new system that has been implemented by USA Hockey.  The new course allegedly takes 1.5 hours to complete and it is a much improved experience.  Please go to www.usahockey.com and click on the Coaches  tab at the top of the page. Then, click on Training Materials and then the Safe Sport Training within that tab.  Going forward, SafeSport training will be an annual requirement but the new refresher course only takes 30 minutes to complete.  *Make sure that you save a copy of your Sate Sport completion certificate!*

• If you need to complete an Age-Specific Module (Mites (8U), Squirts (10U), Peewees (12U), Bantams (14U) and Midgets (16U)), we need this completed immediately.  As a reminder, these courses take 5-6 hours to complete. Please go to www.usahockey.com and click on the Coaches tab at the top of the page. Then, click on Coaching Certification and then the Age-Specific Module within that tab.

Finally, if required, please schedule Clinic training (Level 1, Level 2, Level 3 or Level 4) upon your earliest convenience.  The local CT classes will begin to be posted in the next 2-3 weeks, so we suggest that you schedule them as quickly as you can as they are almost always oversubscribed.  Go to www.usahockey.com and click on the Coaches tab at the top of the page. Then, click on Coaching Certification and then the Coaching Clinics within that tab.
You can go to classes in any state (CT, NY, NJ, etc...)  Midget coaches need to complete all clinics and online modules before October 31, 2019.  The deadline for completion for all other coaches is December 31, 2019.  August and September are the ideal months to complete your required USA Hockey classroom training.

If you have any questions or notice any discrepancies, please email Boyd at .

Travel Hockey Managers: *Please Read*

2019-20 Travel Hockey Team Managers,

As we begin our new hockey season, it is necessary that ALL NCWC TEAM MANAGERS register as volunteers for the upcoming season.  Please follow the three (3) steps below.

  1. Go to www.usahockeyregistration.com and register YOURSELF as an ICE MANAGER/VOLUNTEER with USA Hockey.  Please make sure you register your player(s) by clicking "Ice Managers/Volunteers.”  Each volunteer will receive a code that has nine (9) numbers, two XXs, and the first three (3) letters of your last name in it.  It is suggested that you print out the USA Hockey registration confirmation (complete with number and barcode) for your records.  At a minimum, please write down your USA Hockey confirmation number and keep this information available for completing additional steps in the registration process.  This registration process is FREE for all volunteers.

  2. Register yourself for General Registration 2019-2020.

If you have done so already as part of registration for one of your children's programs at the Winter Club, you can skip this step.

Please follow these following steps:

  • Go to www.ncwinterclub.com

  • Click on Register Online on the left column

  • Click the 2019-2020 General Registration button

  • Log in by entering email address and your password; if you do not remember your password, then just type in your email address and hit submit.  Your password will be automatically sent to your email address.  PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT YOU ARE REGISTERING BY USING THE EMAIL ADDRESS THAT YOU SENT TO THE WINTER CLUB WHEN YOU FIRST JOINED THE CLUB.  DO NOT REGISTER USING A NEW EMAIL ADDRESS UNLESS THE WINTER CLUB HAS BEEN NOTIFIED ABOUT YOUR NEW ADDRESS AND HAS IT ON FILE AS YOUR PRIMARY EMAIL ACCOUNT.

  1.  Register yourself for the TEAM MANAGER program.

***Please note that the system is set up so that you must successfully register for General Registration before you can complete this step***

 Please follow these steps:

  • Click on Register Online on the left column.

  • Click on: TEAM MANAGERS

  • Click on your name

Enter your USA Hockey registration number at the bottom of the Participant Information page after you have verified that the information is accurate.  The system will not allow you to finalize your registration unless you provide this information.

Congratulations, you are finished with the registration process and confirmation emails will be sent to you!!!  Details about completing SafeSport requirements and CHC Background Checks will be communicated later.

If you have any questions or issues, please email the Winter Club’s Registrar at:
