Thank you to all the players, parents, volunteers, and especially coaches that made our 2019 Pee Wee season great.
I uploaded pictures from our end of the season play-day to the pictures section of our website. We are going to refresh the website this summer, and if you have any pictures that you would like to share, please upload them.
For the boys coming back to Pee Wee, Coach Single is taking over as Pee Wee age group commissioner. You are in very good hands!
For the boys graduating to Tyker next year, it just gets more fun. Next spring, we anticipate fielding a 3rd grade/2029 club team, a 2nd grade/2030 club team, and four or five Tyker, rec teams. We may also have a team of 1st graders playing together in Tyker if we have a core group that looks ready for that.
In the works for this summer are skills and drills sessions for everyone, club team tryouts for the 2029 team, and team forming activities for the 2030 team. The current reality is that we need to have a good handle on the makeup of our teams in the late fall in order to get them in the appropriate leagues where we can be challenged without being overmatched. We will continue to have activities in the fall and winter, always deferring to in-season sports, as we roll into the regular season next spring.
We are always looking for more parents and others to volunteer to coach. Send me an email if you are interested. We will have plenty of opportunities for new volunteers to give coaching try this summer and fall with less time commitment than in the spring. The more coaches we have, the smaller groups we have in practice, which leads to more touches and better instruction for our boys. If you like kids or sports, you can be a huge asset to a team at this level even if you have never picked up a lacrosse stick in your life.
