Highlights:
After a rough start - giving up 5 runs on three errors in the first inning - Ballard settled down and only gave up three more runs while scoring one the rest of the way. Issaquah   11
Ballard         1

Highlights:
While Ballard was beset with too many errors in this game -  resulting in 6 unearned runs - the team played well. In the third inning - with the bases loaded - pitcher Sophie Overlock-Pauley fielded a shot back to the mound and then threw to catcher Bernie Cardon for the first out who then threw to first baseman Jamie Thelen to complete the double play. Then in the sixth inning shortstop Kyra Calnan went deep in the hole to field a hard grounder and threw the runner out at first to end the inning. Sophie then struck out the last batter to end the Issaquah rally. Haley DeGarmo was also very strong at third, her second game at the position this season.

Friday, April 24

Ballard     1
Eastlake   9

Highlights:
Leading 1-0 in the fifth inning, a couple bad calls by the umpire and a loss of focus (resulting in 3 errors) in the fifth resulted in 5 runs and the game. But this was a good effort by the team. Before the fifth the pitching was solid and the defense tight. Pitcher Sophie Overlock-Pauley had 6 stirkeouts for the game, including striking out the last two batters in the fourth inning with the bases loaded.
